  1. Linked List on Weakness In Linux Kernel's Binary Format · · Score: 1

Linked Lists have been touted as bad for years by Main Frame types. They (Main Frame techy types) have insisted for YEARS that linked lists not be used for the exact same reasons. Just so you know, I am not really a main frame type techy person, I just have worked with alot of them getting software installed on the big iron, and when I first tryed to implement a piece of software using linked lists, they smashed me like the "Small Computer" person I am :o)

  2. Yes...but on McAfee, Symantec Think Vista Unfair · · Score: 1

If Intel was the only maker of chips, motherboards, and video cards, what choice would you have, but to own an Intel product? I personally think that if you depend on a market made by responding to a poor design, and the design gets fixed, then tough titty, you were milking the situation. How ever, I also think that with Microsoft's track record, I would MUCH prefer to have some backup anti-virus/anti-spyware on ANY box that has their product (OS and Office apps included) installed on it. 2 cents for you all :o)

  3. What an awesome thing... on Invisible Unmanned Aircraft · · Score: 1

However, I think the real invention is the self-healing cables, and control mechnism, they sound far more interesting than the "Invisible" part, which it seems is not really there. I just wonder where one would take one of these to get a friction relign on the flux capacitor?!?

  4. Re:Legalized weed on What Would You Demand From Your IT Department? · · Score: 1

Well...First thing I would do, is give them Marketings budget for a year, then give them a 5 week paid vacation, of course, coming from the Marketing budget...Then, any asshole who worked in my company, who would post something like this on /. would be fired, and the, maybe give the goddamn guys/gals a break, quit fucking nagging long enough to give them a chance to get something done, and a budget to do it with, and ......... Yeah!!! That's what I would do! But really....Leave them the fuck alone for awhile, and let them figure out what is wrong/fix it, then give them some well deserved fucking respect!!!!!!!

  5. Re:Netware, support hell on Linux Growth Doesn't Offset NetWare Decline · · Score: 1

Anyone who would put 100,000 objects in a single container needs to re-think their tree design. Do you have any CNE's on staff? Have you looked into 6.5? We run over 300 Novell servers, and have minimal problems.

  6. Re:Management? on Has Corporate Info Security Gotten Out of Hand? · · Score: 1

All I have to say, is STUPID USERS...Okay, I have more. No security = VERY STUPID!!! Just because the guy in the bad "B" horror movie does not see the guy with the axe, does not save him from being Hacked to little pieces, and used to make dinner. Build security into both software and systems. Don't be stupid.
