  1. Big Blue-ness on IBM Patents Tweeting Remote Control · · Score: 0

  2. Not about spying, it's about control on Emergency Government Control of the Internet? · · Score: 0

Ever since the revelation of the "spying switchrooms" at AT&T facilities, I've been saying that the much more serious issue than spying (and I'm not belittling that issue at ALL) is that, if they can scan all traffic in that room, they can just as easily STOP all traffic in that room without any authorization or ongoing assistance from AT&T. The fact that the Obama adminstration has not seen fit to prosecute these (types of) crimes, as well as the numerous war crimes of the Bush administration just shows them to be MORE OF THE SAME. "Change we can believe in."? I don't think so.

  3. Yes, Good Idea on New Super Mario Bros. Wii To Include Official "Cheat" · · Score: 0

I have a 19 year-old son with a disability. He has always enjoyed video games but quite simply, lacks the eye-hand fine motor skills to play a lot of them. I've often thought while watching him struggle with this that it would be great if games could be "adjusted" to be "doable" by others than those with the time, skill and inclination to invest incredibly long hours in a game. Don't worry "gamers", I don't think he'll ever try to claim your title or take you on in a game. He's just a kid who has had way more than his share of (real) challenges in life and wants to have just a tiny bit of the same kind of fun that the "T-D's" (typically developing) have. CTFO.

  4. Obviously much too simple... on Taxpayers Fund AIG Lawsuit Against US · · Score: 0

But, since "we" own 80 some-odd percent of AIG, can't "we" just call a shareholders meeting, stop the lawsuit, fire a bunch of the bastards and well, basically do whatever "we" want with their bloated, stinking carcass? I'm just sayin'...

  6. Mouse or Trackball on Mouse or Trackball? · · Score: 0

Logitech Cordless Trackman Wheel. Cordless not required, but on the 4 main PCs I use, I have either Microsoft Natural keyboard or Logitech Cordless Desktop Pro keyboards with the logitech Trackman Wheel mounted with velcro right at the bottome of the spacebar onto the "wrist-rest" area/attachment. The "natural" keyboard prevents me having to torque my elbows unnaturally inward and having the mouse located right about at my belly-button allows for what to me is a very relaxed position when not actively "mousing". I find that the trackball, if "tuned" properly allows you to "shoot" your cursor across the screen and repositions very easily. Would have to agree with the other comment that if you're doing graphics, it could be very difficult to "draw" smooth lines, but otherwise, this configuration has stopped virtually all neck/shoulder/arm/wrist pain that I've ever had at a workstation.

  7. Please, please, please on DARPA to Raise Robot LANdroid Army · · Score: 0

tell me they'll at least test these in "war games" where they'll turn a group of moderately accomplished hackers loose to capture one, hack it and then turn it loose to rat out and confuse/betray it's brethren and the troops relying on same. And then they can see for themselves what a bone-head idea this is before they dare to let anyone's lives depend on this. Maybe enter them in a 'Battle of the Bots' and they can get stomped by a Vroomba...

  9. Mashups as "parody"? on Interview Lawyers Who Defend Against RIAA Suits · · Score: 1

Was curious re: some recent stories about (I think) EMI wanting to track down people who downloaded the recently noted Beatles/Beach Boys mashups. What would you think about the prospects of using the defense that these sorts of mashups (well, in some respects ANY mashups) are parody and thereby, protected speech?
