I totally agree 100% and it was my major reason for getting DVR service. Yes, its nice to be able to watch my show at a later date, but I do it solely based on the fact that if I watch the show later, I can skim out about 20 minutes of commercial crap per hour.
During the fall seasons, I usually tape a show at 8PM and a second at 9PM. I'll start watching the first show at 9PM then around 9:40 its over and I start watching the 9PM show. This allows me to be more productive and spend only 80 minutes watching my favorite shows instead of 120 minutes.
Do the math Shaw. It a busy, schedule crazy world, people want to do more in less time. Because I can cut out 20 minutes of crap, I will. So to reply to your assinine statement, yes there will be a backlash.
Skype should counter sue Net2Phone for wasting their time and money.
Seriously though, if the legal system wasn't so f'd up in this country, nobody would be able to get away with suing for everything and anything just on a whim. If lawyers weren't so money hungry, they wouldn't approach a company and tell them they have a potential law suit just so they themselves can make money. If they can get you to go to court, they'll make money off you either way, regardless of who wins.
Actually, they run Sun Solaris. Theres an icon for it right on their main page under the search box (upper right) "Java Technology powered by Sun"

"The district is going to take away the student's education for exercising his freedom of speech," said attorney Carl Buck. "I feel like they are trying to control his freedom of speech.... He is saying, 'You can't bully people and we have a right to object and you can't throw people out of school for voicing their opinions.'"
I'm not sure in this sue-happy world when people will figure this out, but I hope they do it soon. They're turning blogs and the web into weapons to win them money and abusing the legal system and our rights as Americans.
Exactly. The first amendment allows you to do as much as you can/want yourself. It doesn't mean that some private company has to put you #1 in their listings. You do everything that you can, which, may involve paying to have your page ranked higher.
You can't sue a private company for a service they provide free of charge when they dictate how it works. There are plenty of other search engines out there. So if for some reason MSN changes their ranking strategy and you drop off the first page, does that also give you the right to sue? Only if you're paying them to be put on the first page!
We waste enough that we could fly the entire populations of New York State and California to London and back and still waste less in emissions for the flight.
Maybe he's the long lost son of Ace and Gary from the (Begin dramatic music) Ambiguously Gay Duo

So, you get a few bad apples from time to time. (No pun intended)

As usual, Dvorak is full of shit.
