This is why George Washington wasn't a terrorist, but he was a freedom fighter. I'm not aware of any mass executions of British loyalists during the Revolutionary War

Nope, he was just willing to shell the 3rd largest city in the British Empire if the troops didn't leave (Boston)

There is a reason the brits used so much force at Bunker Hill. 15 thousand Civillians behind them. When Washington relocated the guns to Dorchester, the Brits were forced to leave, or see Boston destroyed.

Isn't the Aegis system largely an AIR DEFENSE system? There is that entire troublesome problem of a shop based radar not being able to see through the horizon, limiting detection of surface targets to 30 miles or so, depending on their size.

Oh the joys of Naval wargaming...

Then there's the fact that most wakes glow faintly at night...

And one other question: If a space based radar can texture-map large areas of ocean, it should be able to spot wakes, right?

Y'know, this reminds me of something a professor said back in the middle 80's about Computer Security:

The only way to make a computer safe is to put it in one.

The sooner admins learn that one very simple principle, and keep working on thier systems, taking the new threats into account (instead of believing release x patch y is 'secure') the ssoner we'll see secure systems.

Of course, the fact that MAD is about the most immoral poicy any government can have.. "Here mr. insane dictator, hold a few million of my civillians hostage, please!" Ok, so they'll try to make better missiles. Does tht mean that the US government should not "provide for the common defense" with more than a hope and a prayer? That's all we have now. We hope and pray that someone else won't pull the trigger.

But is it really *good* design work?

Or is it just flashy BS that uses more bandwidth than needed and makes your content either
    A: harder to read or
B: Hides the lack of content on the site?

Then there is the ADA, most screen to voice readers don't process java well, and that breaks ADA laws on any government or government money accepting site.

I make a point to have a firend check my sites with Lynx too. Going for neat organization is much better than flash and trash.

It may just be the excessive ammount of SF I've read, but this is, to me, old news. The real problem isn't the He3, it's the fact that the Fusion program hasn't had enough money to do a damn thing for years. I've watched my Dad get more and more frustrated with people back-burnering this. He's left the fusion program now, because they arent' accomplishing a damn thing.

Helium 3 is worthless until we can do better than breakeven (which we STILL cannot do) with fusion power.

I haven't either, but it does spark a thought. This is, apparently, a VERY good way of doing things. Why aren't other companies (who don't have NASA contracts) doing this? From what I've ehard, the Love bug wouldn't have worked if there hadn't been huge 'undocumented features' in Microsoft Everything big enough to launch the shuttle through. Pointing out that intelligent quality control can be done is a good thing.

Have to agree here. I've read/heard some of the racist crap out there. Some of is is so moronic it's funny.

Maybe it's just my own POV filtering it, but letting small minded people look like idiots just doesn't seem all that threatening to me.

Now if they start actively planning church-burnings, synagogue vandalizing, etc.. well, then it's no longer speach, but conspiracy. I'd hope that national anti-conspiracy laws would cover that.
