I think the problem is that he actually thought that the current batch of Republicans would be more interested in fixing the country than playing party politics.
Same with my cellphone. Last month about two thirds of the calls were from these idiots. It's bad enough having my time wasted, but they were also using up my limited minutes.

And the Fukushima one was built to withstand a tsunami. As long as there are people in the loop looking to cut corners in order to save a buck, any claims of being perfectly safe need to be taken with a large shaker of salt.
Are you going to count those people who die due to radiation poisoning, or do you feel that they can be ignored since you don't have to look at the bodies, and feel that you can simply BS their deaths away.
It's an indication of support. If you can't find enough people willing to even chip in a buck or two, you don't have any support other than your own ego.
