    wow. and you wonder why people like me (skeptics, not deniers) find it hard to take you seriously when you resort to lambasting people for asking questions. I didnt know nature was fox news..... http://www.nature.com/ngeo/foc... As I said. im not saying that nothing is happening. im saying that making the claim that it has been going on for 30 years... when you can find information that , if I am reading it correctly, states it has not been warming for the past 20 years causes concern on the believably of such claims.

    contradict the fast that we have not had any rising in the past 20 years according to these same people? They call it the "warming hiatus"

    Im not saying that the world is not warming, Im not even saying that we humans dont contribute to it. But god damn do they do a crappy job of conveying the message when there are contradictions like this. I could (probably am) reading it wrong but thats my take on it

    really? When I interviewed for my last job i went through a month long process, Phone interviews, 3 in person interviews etc. I would hardly call it rubber stamping

    second this. My dad was never a big drinker. but when he had a drink, i always wanted to try it. I would, Id hate it and i wasnt a drinker until years later (legally)

    im pretty sure what he means is that oil prices have nothing to do with supply and demand (within reason) and more to do with speculation.

    that stat is false. The truth was "97% of scientific studies...by climate scientists..." not 97% of scientists agree. HUGE difference and very (intentionally) misleading when you word it the way you did

    well we have one party who wants to let whoever wants come here no questions asked

    then we have another party who wants to let a select group of people come here (who happen to compete with for the jobs that the majority of slashdotters want/have)

    So one is a small scope - but directly affects us here, the other wants to let everyone in... which also directly affects us here

    and i would have no issue with it if that were the only case. however in some cases its things like "this lake is home to a snail population that is bla bla bla" Those are the issues I dont agree with

    not the previous poster, but in NY in the hudson valley there are a number of bodies we cannot swim in (or can only swim in marked off areas) due to regulations. I cant speak for other areas but there is some truth to that in the hudson valley NY
