sadly some people try and bargain for more than their worth and get cut off from those who pay the bills. Is this the fault of the employee for asking for more than their worth? or the employer for being greedy???
I think the issue is when you feel that you deserve to work a couple hours a day (or week) and get paid more than other people who work for 10s of hours a week (or day) and be paid the same amount. I am sure I will be down moded for this one but sadly the truth hurts. If I own a business, I am going to maximize my profits, and if that means opening a plant in china, or XX instead of YY, well thats not my fault, thats the market. If you dont like the rules, or the way things are running in your country, change the rules to make it more competitive, if that dont work change the rules to keep workers, or products from ZZ from entering your country.
right...its all our fault, because being a nuke power for 70 years, and only dropping them on one country (regardless of if you agree or not) negates everything else. we can argue whether or not the USA is right, its not always right, concerning world issues, but regardless of if we are right or not, just because we have something than can destroy an entire city, we should just let everyone have one right? hell some people want to take some types of guns away from americans, yet usually these same people have no issue with other countries having nukes?? disarm america, yet arm the world... thats a great idea right?
care to elaborate? because when wireless was new, i was working in networking. I even wrote some early drivers for 802.11 and in no way shape or form did anything you said happen. sources please??
I dont think that 80% "like it this way" I think that most are more worried about the new "ohh shiney" instead of the things that could happen. I lost 16 friends/ family members in the WTC collapse, and I dont think I could handle that now (i was 16 in 01) but to say that such a high number think that we are better off... id say the majority of those you claim think we are better off are just passive and dont pay attention one way or another. Id say the number who want us to be weak are much lower
to a degree. I am a firm believer in the constitution, But I also point out the 10th amendment, which says anything not explicitly written in the constitution is left to the states, and not even up for argument in the federal government without the passing of an amendment to the constitution. As such, i dont see me as an anti federalist, I would most specifically call myself a jeffersonian constitutionalist.
the lifestyle in washington, or cali, or NY or south dakota are totally different. I dont want "whats best" for washington to be the same for the entire country. I want whats best locally.
having also had some experience in the school board. I can tell you that the majority of the issues in my town would be solved if we didnt have to ask the masters for permission to do XX anytime we want to do something different. It got way worse under bush when he implemented no child left behind, and it has gotten even worse in the past 5 years. kids cant play dodgeball, kids cant have frenchfries at lunch, i could go on and on, and none of this things are things we wanted to happen. So in conclusion, anecdotes are anecdotes. but the facts are that there has been a steady decline in the quality of education since the creation of the dept of ed. I know correlation != causation but its hard to ignore the simple facts.
As for the police, I think what many of us libertarians believe is that the FEDERAL government should not be involved in LOCAL police offices. The state and locality are more than ok taxing us to fund the police. The issue we have is when the federal government gives departments money for example, for hitting drug bust quotas.
sometimes the market breaks things, othertimes regulations do. The Dept of Ed for instance. American students are not better off since the creation of the Dept of Ed. It makes no sense for someone in say california to send their tax money to the federal government. for the government to send it back to them, along with stipulations on XX or YY. when the people of california could be better off if the money stayed in california, So While I get your point, the market cannot fix everything, but more often than not, it is regulations that stifle progress IMO
The site can for example be used to find out that bacon is mentioned seven times in the Hobbit while only two times throughout the entire the Lord of the Rings."
because I for one have always wondered just how many times they talk about bacon in a book/movie with dragons / eyes that live on top of mountains and rings that turn you invisible. Thank you SOOO much, now I can finally rest at night.
I think his point was more to the fact that jobs was a dbag. Something that is really well known to people in the industry. Woz even has said that jobs screwed him over in the early years.
watching FOX news does not count as an "endless stream of evidence" on this issue, any more than it does for watching CNN or MSNBC
FTFY
where i am it only takes a few years... so it doesnt take long to be full of teachers who cant be fired regardless of their ability

if we compare ANY console to any "high end rig" it looks outdated usually before it even comes out by that logic

step 1 - use name that is popular
step 2 - make a public outcry claiming stupidity and asking forgiveness
step 3 - change company name, profit!
