one could argue everyone has the same right to marry someone of the opposite sex, there is no preferential treatment. But when we have the "gay olympics" or the "gay this" or "gay that" it is actually more exclusionary than one would think. People make the argument that so and so was persecuted and whatever for xx years in the past, but it isnt the past. One cant argue for equal treatment, and still seek preferential treatment. Example, If a straight man hits a gay man, he can be charged with a hate crime, when a gay man atackes a straight man, he must have provoked it. where is the equality?
I am sure I will burn off some karma with this post, but I honestly believe that equality is there, but as long as communities continue to differentiate and not assimilate, than it is only preferential treatment that is being sought after.
in all seriousness I was at my friends house only a few weeks ago and saw some ads on youtube and I turned to him and was shocked and said something along the lines of, well i knew it was only a matter of time until they put ads on youtube. He than told me thats its been that way for years now, I laughed as I honestly had no idea youtube was serving up ads all this time
The anon was correct, when I used 2 years, I meant "2 years from the 1st day of sale of the completed product" 2 years in general would probably be way to low
patents, but what about a compromise? What if software patents and electronic patents were only valid for like 2 years, that in the computer world is more than enough time for you to recover your research money without hampering the development of future tech. I would prefer none but I think this would be a fair compromise.
Their servers can tell they are running wine, so clearly they have a grasp on how many linux users they are playing the game (or they can look at their bann number from the other day)
I went to munich back in 2008 and let me tell you there is still pleanty of "old" history there, along with the new. While there we went to the BMW museum (which opened the weekend I was there, got to see the new 7 series at the time photoshoot take place) the olympic park from the 70s. We went to the augistiner brewery beer garden where oktoberfest is held. http://www.augustiner-braeu.de/augustiners/html/en/index.html Dachau was a very humbling experience, but very vivid. And the center of munich still has all the old buildings, the Glockenspiel in particular. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JH6pwKdw9CI . Cannot forget all the different beer gardens either.
billions of years ago the clusters would have been closer per BBT, its still possible that sometime all those years ago rocks had more of a chance of galaxy skipping no? having said that K.I.S.S. for sure
Probably, I recall a case not too long ago where the MAFFIAA was suing a website for providing CC for AVI (as well as translations) files (not even the files themselves!) Sorry cannot find the link currently, I recall seeing it here on slashdot though
well we could take it to the next logical step, What about blind people? we need to make sure blind people can access the internet and "watch" their videos as well!
I am all for "fair access" but if the CC was not made available by the content maker, than how is it netflixes fault for not having them? Shouldnt the judge be charging the movie maker for not providing CC to begin with??
this isnt 2001, when I had my first laptop that was roughly the size of a standard math textbook, even as such, it was the size of 1 text book, and with the 30 gig hd ( an extra 150 over the 20 gig at the time) I had more than enough room to store all the books on it (if they would have been available at the time, I think it was an insperon 8500 or 8900 I dont recall)
so you tell me what laptop in todays world is bigger than 1 textbook, let alone all the textbooks you need for class, and I will agree with you, until than you are wrong.
this happens on the black market now, why not legalize it and keep the person getting their organ removed, and the person recieving the organ safe? same argument for abortions, it happened anyway so protect the person who is getting it
