    Its how the Library system stays relevant. They would like to be a hub for community engagement and sharing of information.

    The Toronto Public Library does this by letting you "try out the latest technology by participating in classes, workshops, and meetups." at their Digital Information Hubs

    Perhaps make it free if spending over $100.

    Something tells me you might need to up that minimum spending to $1000.

    A "quick trip" to Costco is rarely under $100 even with only 4 items in the cart.

    C) If you can trust cars to do what they are told (or what they collectively agree to do) you need way less infrastructure for the same amount of traffic. For example, there's no reason to have directional lanes or traffic lights.

    How would a pedestrian cross the road?

    How would you ride a bike in such an environment without being killed?

    Weatherley underlined that he did indeed mean prison should be an option not only for those running sites, but those who keep on downloading despite the warnings.

    Is this guy a martyr or do we just chalk this up as another politician with crazy ideas that won't pass the majority test? Perhaps his boss doesn't give him enough work to do.

    We can't regulate China, but we can regulate the US companies that do business over there. My company does 80% of its sourcing from China.

    If they have gone as far as setting up production in China then they will find ways around it. Once one company figures out the strategy they wall will. Maybe they can setup Company B in another country that owns your manufacturing business in China. Now they are two separate companies and can sell to each other at cost.

    Mac OS X doesn't have a start menu. Wouldn't that freak out the same people that cant use Windows 8?

    This guy should have never spoken to them. Period. Arrest me, give me a lawyer or let me walk out the door. No other words should have escaped his lips.

    That's the theoretically noble thing to do. In reality he felt he had nothing to hide and laid it all out for them to see. Perhaps he figured it would be less of a nuisance than obtaining a lawyer and getting yelled at by the wife for wasting more money on that Google Glass thing.

    The very best that can be said about it is it is weather forecasting. Science is testable. Anthropogenic climate change or whatever it is called this week is not testable. We have simply been in a several hundred year period of increasing solar activity.

    Thats like saying a chemist isn't a scientist, hes just mixing things together like a 15-year-old in a McDonalds kitchen.

    Perhaps you should read on why Climatology is a science.

    At first you state that ten percent fewer people believe evolution. Then you quote:

    So is evolution the false belief or is it belief in god? Are you saying that people who believe in god believe in global warming? Thats confusing because I would have figured they would be against science, like evolution.

    We've upped our income significantly quite recently since my better half got her second degree, and a job, and someone told her that we now could now afford to buy a larger home.

    If you live where we do, buying a larger home is cheaper and means moving further from the city. Now you are getting into that cycle of requiring two cars and not enough time to cook healthy meals. A step back if you ask me.

    I've been using adblockers for years. What you are saying is all that is out there is a 10 second Chevy ad? Why such a fuss to circumvent adblockers for a 10 second ad?

    I suspect there is more that you aren't telling me about.

    With many airlines now offering Wifi on board people will sidestep the any phone ruling. A skype call on your laptop using a headset is exactly the same as a phone call but without all the cellular issues.

    Unless you're the lead plane, you don't hardly look at anything except your relation to the other guys' plane(s).

    Is there some sort of specific training that you would do for that? I imagine that the adrenaline would be off the charts the first time you do that and your eyes would be bone dry from not blinking.

    What did you think it did? You have the option of not running it.

    The technical information doesn't exactly say it removes TOR or any particular version:

    The Sefnit family is known to use Tor or SSH provided by PuTTY as its C&C communication channel.

    Some variants add a Tor service under the display name "Tor Win32 Service". This a legitimate service that is used by the trojan to anonymize it’s network traffic.

    Since August 2013, there has been a considerable increase in the Tor network's incoming connecting users - this is believed to be as result of the Sefnit family using Tor for its C&C communication. This is shown in the following graph from the Tor metrics portal:

    Some people find TOR using a Chrome browser. Should they have the authority to remove that too only to tell you about it later in a blog?

    Every time I use somebody else's computer I feel like 3 year old gazing at an advertisement for the first time. Its cool seeing things blinking, ads flying across the screen, and ads with noise.

    After about a minute that goes away and remember why I have adblockplus.

    Just curious how those requirements (small screen, responsive, fast search) resolve the revelations (NSA spying?).

    I'm not a security expert, but if your emails aren't encrypted how will you stop the NSA from reading them?

    That is an issue with cloud applications, and SaaS in general.

    Its a problem with any product you rent such as a car or hotel room, or service that is provided such as TV service or hair salon.

    If they want to upgrade portions of their product/service then you either go with it or find somebody else that provides it.

    Like a lot of people I have a bunch of programs that I use (and have used for years) and I just want my "desktop" when I'm working on my desktop.

    I would suggest going straight to desktop at launch. Pin the most use programs to the taskbar, my 19" 4:3 can handle about 17 applications, and go to town. For programs not used often use the search function. The old start menu was just bloated and required searching for anything anyways.
