As a gun owner and gun enthusiast- fuck the NRA. They have not been on the side of gun owners since the beginning. They are on the side of gun sellers.
I live in Salt Lake City. My house has a heat pump, but my shop is cooled by a swamp cooler. It is effective and much cheaper to run. The constant refresh of the air in the shop is just a bonus.
Not at all obsolete. Evaporative cooling is pretty universal in large building cooling systems. On the small scale it is limited by area to dry climates, but is still very common in those areas. Go to the Great Plains and deserts and count how many swamp coolers are in use. You are likely to be very surprised.
I am interested because current technology requires the replacement of the substrate due to calcium buildup and infection by contaminants. A ceramic substrate would allow sterilization as well as lime removal processes making them permanent or at very least long lasting.
you can use the water heat exchanger to improve the operation of refrigeration cooling in humid areas. This is quite common, maybe universal, in large building cooling systems.
You are right for some on the server side, but you also have to admit there are cheap assholes on the customer side that won't tip no matter how stellar the service is.
This is the conundrup inherent in many fields. I took time off from IT to drive a truck. People complained that shipping prices have been stagnant since the 80's while the cost of operating has gone through the roof. And this is true. the solution is simple, and impossible. "Don't take cheap freight". If everyone refused to take cheap freight the prices would have to rise. There are about 4 million trucks on the road. All it takes is one to accept that cheap freight when the other 3,999,999 refused it to ruin the effort. And as it is, people are having a hard time adjusting and as a result, 8 out of every 10 truckers is living paycheck to paycheck and can't afford to refuse any freight that lets them fill their belly and break even on costs.
As a side note, being an outsider I actually made money steadily. There is a VERY strong mentality that fast=more miles= more pay. I saw almost immediately that reduced fuel costs from going slower way exceeds the miles gained from going faster. But even showing them my deposit slips, tax returns (net taxable income) and fuel costs fails to convince most drivers that this works. Gotta go fast so I can get a load to pay for fuel so I can go fast to get a load to pay for fuel....
Not all of the US. Out here they told the telcos to go fuck themselves and laid government fiber all over the place, then opened it up to ISPs to use. I have fiber to my home, and 6 ISP's to chose from on it. And Comcast. So I can have 6 ISPs compete to give me the best 1g/1g no cap experience, or I can have "up to" 75/15 with a 300G cap and Comcast's legendary customer service.
For some reason, Comcast is doing very poorly here.
They sell up to 25mb/s. the network can handle up to 25mb/s. The reality is that they cannot sustain it. "The FCC wants to test our lines. Kick everyone off and remove all the throttles. test complete? We barely passed? Sweet! no upgrades this year. Let the users back on!"
Reality is, you get dialup speeds at prime time, and little better than 1mb/s the rest of the time.
Then why do those that claim big government is bad keep expanding it? The government only shrinks under those who do not make these claims. it only grows under those who do make these claims.
Why do the Libertarian crowd always claim that letting the already established huge companies have free reign will result in a more free market? It is mind boggling how utterly and willfully ignorant these folks are.
And the propaganda network is very effective. A family member posted a false quote from Elizabeth Warren he got from FoxNews facebook page. I pointed out that this quote is false, she never said it. Ever. It is a quote from Joseph Stalin. All the Fox fans jumped on board swearing it is real, that Snopes is lying, and they heard her say it themselves. The quote remains false, yet this pack will go to the polls thinking one candidate is Stalin because Fox told them so.
Well, I can toss in $100. That and your $100 ought to totally destroy the $890,000,000 the Koch brothers have announced they are tossing in to the ring this election cycle. Though the money that large PACs like Verizon belongs to will match the Koch brothers, then our $200 will be hard pressed to compete.

>Evaporative cooling brings the air temperature down by increasing the humidity of the air.
This statement is false. The air is cooled by the endothermic nature of evaporating of water. The humidity is a side effect.

I am unaware of any dry climates that have a monsoon season.
Eh, I found it good for what it was intended to be- another Seth Rogan rollicking stupidity flick. It did this very well.
Thanks for the link. I had seen that was the case but did not know what happened. I suspected (correctly) but did not know.

I just want to marvel at this rare animal spotted in the wild. A libertarian that is not Anonymous Coward.
I'd say write it from scratch and sell it to the Chinese, back door included, then release the source to the public.

You think they would not do the same without legislation? You are a fool.
Are they blank? Of course they can be dyed.
Many, if not most, electronics can handle ambient temperatures far above what humans can endure. This is not your overclocked PC we are talking about.

Not until they have real competition. Most areas, you have 1 option and 1 option only. Don't like it? Tough shit, talk to the hand.
"Now available in your area Ultra Super-duper awesome speed internet!!"

What, alienate and shame a trained military force? No way that could backfire.
