    I suspect it is for the good. The microsoft/yahoo team should be able to put forward much more competition vs google then they would be able to as separate entities.

    I went to purdue for 2 years, then transfered to Caltech on a 75% scholarship. You may want to investigate something along the same lines if your grades aren't quite good enough to get a scholarship to a top10 school. (Also, purdue was awesome for the first 2 years, however...caltech is a bit more...academically rigorous :( )

    Although that is a good point, this study isn't measuring how much money they save but rather how much they earn on a yearly basis.

    What baffles me is to why Scientology forces websites to remove "copyrighted" material(For example that slashdot comment); they really brought about this situation upon themselves. That being said; I doubt Scientology will reply to all this activism, they are already in a bad situation and replying to it will only further the media coverage of it.

    Maybe they will learn from their mistakes.

    At Microsoft, I've had access to the source code for Halo 1 & 2, Internet Explorer, MDAC, MSXML, the .NET Frameworks and CLR, SQL Server, SQLXML, Virtual PC, Visual Studio, Windows, the Xbox and Xbox Live.... I envy him...

    The next generation is becoming more and more technical savvy, hell, my 10 year old kid can reinstall Gentoo with no problems.

    When the current generation starts to die(the technically absolute generation), so will AOL.

    I think they will allow publishers to intergrate adsense adverts, its a win win for the publisher and google. The publisher makes money, and google makes money.
