Seems to be you're trying to make yourself into something you're not: interesting.
The best way to not volunteer information would have been to never post in the first place, especially if you didn't want the inaccuracies in your posts pointed out.
"release information"? Get over yourself. The bunkers have been declassified for over a decade. Read the wikipedia article, for crying out loud.
There's no need to try and make it sound like you're "in the know". Anyone who has paid the $5 and taken the public tour could have called your posts into question, as you twice made the assertion that there were only two bunkers, and both were on the sea. Both assertions are false.
Do keep trying to make yourself sound interesting and important, though. Let me know how that works out for ya.
Furthermore, there were more than just two bunkers, in fact there were seven. The one in Alberta was sold to a farmer, and was subsequently repurchased at a much higher price by the government when they realised that he was going to resell it to a chapter of the Hell Angels.
How bout a Motorola M68HC12/11 microcontroller EVB? You can do lots of cool stuff with it, reference manuals for it are pretty cheap and usually of very good quality, and you can even buy pre-built boards for a decent price, and start hacking away on it right away. You can have your very own fighting robot (or whatever turns your crank) in no time.
I remember a presentation done at the Ottawa Linux Symposium by a Xandros guy on the KDE multimedia architecture. The guy mentionned then that Xandros would be making a splash in the news in "a few months" about a new distribution. Guess this is it.
Hopefully a startup might be able to manage the distribution better than Corel has, with tighter focus and better communication with the community. The downside is that I will miss Corel's excellent presentations at OLS.
Everyone seems to forget that Canada was actually the third space-faring nation, ahead of China, France, Great Britain, etc... It's not like we haven't been there before. However, I have to wonder what can be accomplished with 500M$.

I'm not sure how the Cs system works in the States, but here in Canada the program you would be looking to hire from would be University grads from either Computer Engineering. College grads here aren't the same as in the States, as they are mostly technicians and don't learn anything theoretical.
The Cs program at my university revolves moslty around the pure theory of writing software. (ie : why use a stack over a deque in certain applications, Big O notation for every last function in every last application, optimisation). The program doesn't involve much practical applications, or much math or physics either.
The Software engineering program here (to be accredited at the end of the year) is just like Cs, but with a tiny bit of hardware background, and more practical applications in their course load like kernel design (using Linux as a basis) and a lot of business classes. Again no maths of physics.
The Electrical Engineering program revolves around everything that touches hardware, from DSP to microwave tech and microprocessor design. The program is very math and physics intensive, but contains almost no software courses.
The Computer Engineering program is almost the same as the electrical engineering program, with a software load added. We take physics (the dreaded electromagnetics), a lot of Math, and no business courses. We still learn DSP, uW, and microprocessor design and such, but added to the program are software courses dealing with everything from theoretical (data structures, optimisation, AI) to applied (OS design, kernel design, driver design).
Again I can't speak for the US system because I know there are a multitude of differences (like engineering being accredited for colleges), but from the description of your needs it seems like CE grads from a Canadian University would do the trick for you.

A patent for an innovative key/button based text input device, that allows the user to enter a sequence of letters from keys marked with symbols, such as the Greek alphabet. The device would also have buttons for entering numerical values, for added functionality.

I realise this may seem like a lot of work, but it will allow you to save streaming videos. The files that you click on to start the stream are links to the actual quicktime movie on the net. Follow these steps and you'll be able to get the movie :
1. launch a program that allows you to monitor your streams. On the Mac you can use OTSessionWatcher.
2. click on the link, then it will launch the quicktime player.. you can stop before the streaming is done if you want..
3. Go back in OTSessionWatcher and search for ".mov".. it'll find the location of the actual file for you.. sometimes if it uses Akamai the URLs are multiple lines long so you have to clean them up a bit. copy the URL
4. Launch Anarchie or any other good FTP program, do an HTTP GET on the URL you just copied, and that's it.. it should start downloading.
hope this helps Sternn

just wanted to let you know that there is indeed protected memory and preemptive multitasking in OS X...
if you're thinking of OS8 or OS9, then no there is sadly no protected memory (but my Mac hasn't crashed in ages anyways) although there is cooperative multitasking

Actually, I remember reading about a company that had introduced dual G3 cards that would run under the AmigaDOS a while back. The problems encountered with cache corruption were fixed in software. However, I don't have a link to the article, nor am I sure if they actually shipped.

Could you elaborate on what Applescript does better than Perl? I have to write some CGIs for a Mac server running Webstar and I'm wondering wether I should use MacPerl or Applescript.
