IMHO, it is rather unfortunate that this chip may not get much of a chance to prove itself (now that I think about it). The rate of microprocessor improvements (specifically speed) has increased exponentially, while at the same time, HDs, memory, input devices, and especially softare overall are... BLOATED?
Unless Transmeta manages to spark a revolution to produce smaller, more durable and adaptable devices, all this excitement may be short lived and they will end up plodding along like AMD has been doing for the last while despite superior products.
FIRST POST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MUAHAHA! I really hate to say this because even Linux needs some competition but I wonder whether dear Billy is pondering buying out any chip makers now. Embedding a tiny linux OS onto a chip with incredible potential should scare the hell out of him. Anyone have any ideas on implications on the future of hardware/software now?
A stylized mean looking Tux wiping his butt/feet with the Microsoft flag?;) Althoguh I agree with whomever said that using Tux is probably the easy way out. How about an Egghead shopping cart full of software all with big price stickers that say $0.00 or FREE!
That way, any time some one uses the patented process of Patent Lawyer processing, the Patent Lawyers will have to pay a fee to do their legal process, which will in turn drive up legal costs and put everyone out of business!
That ought to put an end to things.
Now if only my patent for capitalism would get accepted soon...
Numerous people have reported that after getting laser eye surgery done they could see far better than they ever had with glasses (or before they needed glasses). Someone did a study on it and discovered that as a result of the lasering, they were given 20/10(?) vision. It was on a tv or radio report (I don't recall) recently. There should be a web article on this somewhere.
