Webmasters should be able to cater to whomever they choose. Should Target be against making their website accessable I have a great solution for the blind, visit the retail outlet, or a competitor. Maybe webmasters should make their sites accessable to people that are unable to read as well....
RAID + WD Raptors helps with disk access.. maybe you should try some of those. Eventually we'll have 10+GB of ram too so I don't see hard drive access being as important soon either.
I think the reason is because the power drain of consoles is more or less static and isn't at all opionated, unlike the other views on the product. Expecting otherwise would be like expecting people to argue over this 2.8ghz processor being 2.8ghz, bios says it is 2800mhz so that is what it is...
Here is my afternoon routine: 4:00PM - Leave work 4:15PM - Arrive at home 4:20PM - Answer phone call from telemarketer 4:30PM - Check e-mail and delete all spam 4:50PM - Start making dinner 4:55PM - Answer phone call from telemarketer 5:00PM - Make table 5:15PM - Answer phone call from telemarketer 5:20PM - Sit down to eat 5:22PM - Answer phone call from telemarketer 5:23PM - Answer phone call from telemarketer 5:24PM - Answer phone call from telemarketer 5:25PM - Answer phone call from telemarketer 5:26PM - Answer phone call from telemarketer 5:27PM - Answer phone call from telemarketer 5:28PM - Answer phone call from telemarketer 5:30PM - Start eating 5:31PM - Answer phone call from telemarketer 5:40PM - Finish eating 5:45PM - Do Dishes 6:00PM-9:00PM - Watch TV and Answer phone call from telemarketers 9:30PM - Cry myself to sleep over how many annoying phone calls I had to answer that day
From what I've seen a large portion of their customers are extremely dissatisfied with their service. I have been with them for ~7 years and have never had an issue yet I'm still somewhat dissatisfied simply based on what they have done to some of my friends. It seems they are always way too buyer friendly until one of your friends get scammed for nothing and left with the bill. Funny how that works I guess..
Sort of like how these are far superior speed wise than the ones we DID use in our schools 10 years ago? I know it is anecdotal but if I could go to my local Best Buy and pick one of these up for $100 I would. As would most of my friends. Its basically an oversided PDA that runs desktop software..for cheap.
Lol well it is a government building. I actually got scammed. Out of everyone in the building I probably use the most resource intensive apps (really should have DHL shipping software too which requires a database be running locally..) some people are actually on dual cores with half a gig of ram:p

Yeh, heh. We run win2k on 1.8ghz P4s w/ 256MB ram. It is a pain but I manage to get UPS Worldship, Outlook, a few IE windows, Excel and some other crap running. Our antivirus / network management utilities are pretty out of date (ie. not bloated)

At work I typically have 8-10 open as the computer is fairly crappy. At home when I am doing misc stuff I'll generally have 20+ with some browser tabs and IE windows (FF and IE) If I'm searching for porn..usually 50+
Since this is for school you can tell them computer parts or something instead of porn I guess..
Last week someone showed me something really cool. They said, "Check this out, go to www.google.com". So I did it. You won't believe what I saw. It actually let me use Google as my search engine! ON INTERNET EXPLORER IT WORKED!!
Seriously, fuck all these search bars. I'm sick of them wasting space. Whats wrong with just going to the website you want and searching for what you want? Anyone that cares about Google as the default search for their toolbar would know enough to get firefox and use their toolbar anyway..or they could even use Google's toolbar!
There should be no easy way for any company to have access to low level kernal functions. I think Microsoft's gripe is just that. They have made it so no virus should be able to get to that low of a level thereby erasing the need for an antivirus application to be that low. Any virii should be in user-space which is where antivirus should be looking..
Maybe that is the purpose of it? Take this super football into a field and give it a hurl. Press a few buttons on your laptop / PDA / cell phone and you can see how far / fast you threw the ball. May seem like trash right now but if I could get a football with data logging for less than double the cost of a regular football (like $30) I'd probably be all on top of it..
But simply re-installs. I hope it is safe to assume we'll be waiting ~5-6 years before the next Windows release. Suppose in 3 years I use my "one upgrade". Does this leave me room to reinstall Windows semi-annually or more frequent? I may not be the typical computer user but in the last 8 years or so I've sometimes gone as little as 2 weeks between formats.. this could be a serious issue for many people..
I understand that. Their "sizzle" is $500 computer cases though. If they had a true no BS performance machine with a cheaper case thus reducing total cost I bet they would get better reviews without scamming their customers (by only letting good reviews out).
Yeh, but alienware should expect poor reviews. There is really nothing they can do about it as they overcharge and it is impossible to get better than top-of-the-line components. The way they price their machines puts it into enthusiast territory and the majority of enthusiasts are capable of building / finding much more powerful machines for the same cost or the same machine for far less. If alienware got rid of / reduced the cost of what amounts to $500 cases they may get better reviews....
Its ok if it is slower than firewire as most of us don't have 800mbit internet connections.. or 400mbit, or even 45mbit. The method of transfer almost doesn't matter for actually purchasing songs, possibly for syncing. You'll still be able to sync via firewire anyway though...
Myspace and other blogging sites are a different story than the rest of the internet. They are places where users can easily make their own personal webpage. If they want their webpage to be fucked up they can make it fucked up. It's no different than personal geocities or angelfire pages of the past, just easier. Users cant fuck up websites whos purpose is something other than having their own personal website, IE. Slashdot, porn sites, etc. (Yes users can make stupid comments on slashdot but that is different than physically screwing the website up).
I agree. Kind of. I go there for porn, not information. Googlebombing affects online porn searches just as much, possibly more than information, though.
Its horrid to punish someone for something they didn't do though. If I smoke myself into an oblivion then beat my wife, sure I should be punished. If I turn my baby into a crackhead to help it sleep at night, I should be punished. If I'm getting doped up all the time to the point that I can't support my family my children should be taken away by reason of neglect and I should be punished. If I like to smoke pot after work to calm myself down while I watch TV and munch on a bag of chips the government should fuck off.

Windows MCE interface is already extremely easy to navigate with a remote. I think this may be leaning more toward use for presentations and such.

The crank would be a bonus anyway.. the lack of a crank makes me barely willing to spend $100 for one, forget $200 or $300.

Its ok because they analize it when it is uploaded and block it from being uploaded.. not every time the file is downloaded.

Wouldn't "Preview Scores" be easier.
