  1. Re:Patentless? on Cheap, Safe, Patentless Cancer Drug Discovered · · Score: 1

According to the DOD, an E3 wont really make over 1700. Even considering an extra 600, thats still way off from 40K a year. Anyway, not that it really matters. The only reason I commented was because you had been modded informative and your experience seemed way off from what I (and most of my friends) had experienced.

Are you even in the military? There is no way an E3 makes 40K a year. Either way, your way off about the amount of money a person makes on a deployment. In 2003 I was making 225 a month hazardous fire pay, a 240 food allowance (even though food was provided for), and another 100 for location pay. The married guys were making much better than I was because they also got separation pay. In addition to that I was not having to pay income tax. Anyway, those rates were for 2003, and I can't imagine them having gone down since then. Also, I always thought the chow halls were a great place to eat. Good tasting, very good quality food, very cheap.

The surprising thing is that the worst of the quotes, "As you might imagine, we are upset at Windows for not being more hardy against such viruses...", is still unchanged on the apple web page. Anyway, http://www.apple.com/support/windowsvirus/ has removal instructions for anyone who thinks they may have been affected by one of these ipods.

The one exception here is that hydrogen gas, being so light, tends to float up to the edge of the atmosphere where it can escape the Earth's gravity and fly off into space.

Hydrogen is reactive enough that very little would ever make it out of the atmosphere. Realistically I think its only the very light nonreactive gasses, like helium, that you have to worry about escaping.

Its not saying the old DNA test are inaccurate. This technique just allows them to use DNA that previously they could not test, such as a DNA sample that multiple people had handled.

The new yahoo mail may be loaded down with useful features, but without POP support it won't be a a good alternative to gmail for many users. I know a lot of people, myself included, that started using gmail strictly so they could have a permenant POP email account that can also be checked via web while not in front of their computer.

Actually it had to do with the way the mp3 files were burned to the cd. The older version burned every file into a single directory. After the upgrade Itunes put all the mp3's into a hierarchical folder structure. It stuck each mp3 into a folder with the artists name. There was no option to prevent it from doing it either, I even emailed apple support about it. And my car mp3 player would only read data cd's with up to like 64, or something like, that folders. Maybe that 'feature' was fixed in a later version, but I stopped using itunes completly after that.

  9. Re:Sure it can! on The Trouble With Software Upgrades · · Score: 1

The issue isn't that it can't be uninstalled in windows. You can uninstall it fine, but apple does not distribute installers for old versions. This is the reason I stopped using itunes several years ago. I stupidly upgraded itunes only to find out the new version burned cds that were not compatible with my car mp3 player. And since Apple wouldn't distribute old versions of their software I had to start using a program.
