I said it WAS an epidemic among a specific group at a specific time. However, there have been news reports (I know, news reports are not necessarily reliable) that because of advances in life-sustaining HIV treatment, gains in education and safety made in the 90's are starting to fade among homosexuals.
I don't dispute your points about AIDS transmission in Africa. I do take issue with the attitude that it's "difficult" to contract AIDS. HIV is not the hardiest of viruses, it's true, but I can't think of any virus I'd want less. And, obviously, people DO transmit it.
So, all things considered, I don't think it's a very good idea to tell teens, who are reckless morons to begin with (we all were at that age - 10 feet tall and bulletproof), that there's really no chance they'll get AIDS. There IS a chance, and the more idiotic their behavior, the greater the chance.
Right, which is why it became an epidemic in the gay community in the 80's and why it's wiping out entire generations in Africa... because it's so hard to get.
I'm sure the hail was the result of Global Warming. See, Karl Rove hates NASA and so he's engineered the continuation of Global Warming to make the Cape totally useless for space launches. Once Rove has eliminated NASA, he and Cheney will construct their command bunker there and take over the world, ala Pinky and The Brain.
It's clearly NOT a "computer" but, given that you can have 100Gb in your pocket, in an iPod, how far off are we from leaving the PC model, and just having monitor/RAM stations that we plug our memory/processor units into. This memory stick idea seems just one step off from that.
Wow, you just proved the guy's point, and you don't even know it. Your grammar and punctuation are lacking, I seem to recall that the Greek and Roman civilizations DID die out, and Europe plunged into about 700 years of ignorance and war. Actually, the war part still hasn't worked itself out, but the ignorance and illiteracy of the Dark Ages were quite amazing considering the education and literacy of the Roman Empire and the Greek republic.
How dare you suggest that technology is fallible! You are... [insert hardware/software/power-source failure here]
Its because there system is designed to grate on you're inter's.

Actually, HIV is pretty darned hard to catch...

Idiot.
but here's a non-myth for you: Brandon Hansen is an over-wound tool.

And isn't Cyberdyne the name of the company in the Terminator movies?
