    Personally I am a little tired of what's out there. Let's face it, there has been little to no innovation in Game markets, they have been pushing out crappy FPS after crappy FPS. And don't get me started on bad Sims. I think the gaming industry needs to wake up and put some of these suckers out of business. Start supporting free games instead of these money-whoring, anything to make a buck companies.

    Did you even read the summary at the top of the page? It is FUMINATION, the owners of DragonballZ who are doing this, not ID. They have every right to stop people from infringing on their copyright. Damn crack smoking moderators, pay attention.

    in fact, you can not buy win2k datacenter on its own- must be installed by a retailer (and not your local store, we're talking behemoths here). why that is, i'm not completely clear

    It has to come with a 4 9's uptime gurantee that must be supplied by the retailer. That's the whole point of datacenter. Does it work like that? No idea. And 4 9's isn't even that impressive IMNSHO.

    Liar. If you look at the logs you will see I was using the account. He did not "attack" your machine, he portscanned it, and I asked him to. I wanted to know who that IP address. I figured it was you right off the bat. You have overstepped your rights as a slashdot author. You are not some God who can decide who can or cannot post to slashdot. Nor can you hold accounts ransom as you see fit. Signal 11 asked ME to hold his account, and use it as I wish until he decided to return to slashdot. If you think I am Signal 11, I invite you to read the server logs, and it will be obvious that we are in different places.

    Michael, you are a hypocrite and a liar, and you are no better then Sengan.

    naah not really. I've had the +1 for a long time now. just because I flamed someone doesn't make everything I post irrelavent. Check out my posting history and you will see that most of my posts are valid, normal /. types. There is only the occasional flame mixed in.

    Not to say I haven't whored an account up to +1 for the sheer pleasure of trolling it away, but that was in the past. This is my account. I will say what I feel. If it's considered a troll then so be it.

    From what I can see, republicans are evil, democrats are stupid, Nader is a fruit loop, Libertarians are scary-stupid, and Buchanan is dangerously insane. I have to go to really obscure people (the Natural Law party) before I find anyone whose policies I can agree with.

    You do realize that labels 'loan' the money to make these recordings, they do not 'give' it.

    Labels only recoup monies paid out if the albums sell. If the band doesn't go anywhere and they get dropped from their contract, they don't have to pay back money for recording time.

    Haptic mice are sweet. They are talking about applying it to medical edumacation, training doctors how to palpate certain parts of the body, by allowing them to feel how it would resist.

    They even have an app to train people on finding land mines!

    FYI Haptics comes from the Greek Haptesthai. meaning to grasp or touch.

    Foreign companies pay import/export taxes.

    If a company does a large amount of business in the US, they are usually incorporated in the US (Toyota, Sony etc..) This is more affordable than paying import taxes.

    If this corporation of yours go bankrupt, what happens? Are you liable to repay any outstanding debts?

    Actually this isn't entirely true.

    In Ohio (where I live and work for an incorporated company) We are entitled to protection if we go bankrupt. But keep in mind we do have to pay monies owed. What happens when you are incorporated is that someone can't come and take my car, or my house that are in my name. Anything that is in my companies name can be siezed, but it protects me from losing my personal belongings (providing I didn't use them as colateral on loans etc.)

    Otherwise banks can repo computers, business vehicles, etc..

    Just though I'd clear that up.

    I can't speak for everyone, but I read beowulf in 10th, 11th, 12th grade, as well as in 2 different Lit courses in University (all in the US). Since it's the considered one of the earliest "great" writings (well by a white person anyway `;^) it seems to pop up again and again.

    I still dig it though, and have actually read it several times on my own. (A cool modern Sci-fi adaptation is the beowulf series by Larry Niven, which include Beowulf's children and the Children of Heorot (released under a different name in the UK)).
