I agree. By December of this year there will be 2 million blu-ray players in homes accross the world. Probably somewhere around 500k-750k alone in the US. HD-DVD will not have those kinds of numbers for a long time. By this time next year we will probably be getting close to 10 million PS3's sold.
I say this under the premis that Sony has 2mil ready to go at launch and keeps the 2mil a month production schedule.
I don't like this argument. HD-DVD has been out for maybe a month, Blu-ray is out right now so it's not like they are 2 years behind or something.
I don't think Blu-ray is late as much as HD-DVD is early. I think that because of all the problems I have read about the players having. Tells me they rushed it.
The user pays exactly $100 for the Blu-ray player. An Xbox with a HDD is $400. PS3 with HDD is $500. Well over $200? Where the fuck did you come up with that?
Also, Sony is indeed using Blu-ray for games. It's MS that said they would not print any games on HD-DVD since it's not standard on all Xbox 360's
PS3 will work on any TV. PS3 games will play in HD over component also. It's just the movies that you have to worry about. Sony said at their press conference the other day that they will put out their movies without the DRM implamened. Meaning you'll get full resolution.
