There's always third parties... America is not a two-party country, that's just what the powers that be want you to believe. If you want a real change, don't vote Republican or Democrat. Think for yourself.
There's a HGUE difference between being multi-lingual and being socially adept. Books can teach you all shorts of things, but they can't teach you how to interact with the world. I know a ton of people who have insanely high IQs, are multi-lingual, had insanely high SATs and and acing college like nobody's business; but can't for the life of them walk up to another human being and hold a conversation that isn't about WoW or their classes.
This is a good idea for the aquisition of intellectual knowledge, but if it's implemented everywhere we're going to have a nation full of people who can't interact with each other because they never had the chance to learn it.
"So yeah, 10 out of 10 for style, but minus several million for good thinking, yeah?"
That's why you set up your privacy settings so that only your friends can see the stupid ass shit you do. If security busts you then you know your "friends" really aren't.
So if I decide to go fishing out on the open seas I can just call these guys up and say "Hey, what's that sattelite you guys have up there say about fishing conditions? Where are they biting?"
This is probably the worst cover story I've ever heard for a spy sattelite.
Hmmmm, so yeah I dunno about you, but if I feel a burning sensation coming from my laptop, through my pants, and onto my personal space, I'm kinda prone to TAKE THE LAPTOP OFF OF MY LAP. If it's really an issue to not have the laptop on your lap go out and buy a lapdesk, or if you're frugal, staple a pillow to the underside of a piece of wood.
But see, with the paranoid government we've got now it won't happen. The government won't want it privitized either because of the potential loss in technological advantage that we'll have over other countries. Same goes for outsourcing. I'm all for privitization of the space industry because of the technological boom it has the potential to create.
not that we'll have an advantage much longer with all the damn managers our schools are producing. No one wants to be a scientist or engineer anymore, they just want to be in charge... we need more thinkers and tinkerers or we're toast.

I thought Microsoft had finally attempted to jump into the MP3 player market.
