Actually, their students can still receive grants and loans from the government, so private schools still get the majority of their money from the government, albeit indirectly.
All because 1st semester calc never, ever transfers.
I had a similar problem when I transferred from a state school to a private school. They didn't want to credit any of my classes and despite me already having 3 years, didn't even get me to sophomore by credits.
I didn't want to take the classes again, so I figured I would just spend 15 minutes per day at the Registrar's Office arguing. I figure I had the whole year to go there every day but they had a lot of work to do in their 8 hours that they wouldn't get done.
They finally got so tired of me wasting all their time that they just asked me for a full list of what I thought was fair and then just approved it.
There was a free day on NHL.tv once (good thing too, since my team wasn't on that day). I can honestly say that it was the most beautiful live video that I have ever seen on the internet, bar none.
The DVR features are pretty cool, too, but you really can't come home late (west coast) and watch a game DVR-style, since they show you the score 3-4 times before you start. This keeps me on DirecTV, which, while overpriced, is a great service.
DirecTV was out in the first round in a direct head-to-head against your beloved Comcast. Frankly, I haven't had any of the problems that you are listing. And it's disingenuous to compare 30 channels against 225 and say "Comcast is cheaper". You could have easily gone online and dropped your DirecTV bill to about $40/month, making your total....$80/month. Wow! Amazing the way that works!
How did DirecTV make the brackets at all? The rest I understand, but I've seriously never had anything but prompt, outstanding service from DirecTV, especially compared to the horror stories I hear from my friends with cable.
Technically incorrect. If you enter an intersection, even on green, and cannot clearly/reasonably exit the intersection before the red light (usually meaning traffic is piled up in front of you) then you can be cited. Presumably it's for blocking traffic vs running the red, but it might be up to the officer and/or judge.
That is a gridlock law, and subject to the officer's interpretation.
Mainstream media is largely owned by large IP holders, and will not only avoid stories about the ACTA, but will create a massive campaign to ignore any protest that becomes public.
I have never had a disk that I have burned fail to be readable. Every old disc I have ever found in my house (DVD or CD) has been readable unless physically damaged due to abuse. This includes discs I burned with the first Ricoh 2X burner in the 1990s.

It's from Star Trek: The Motion(less) Picture.

I second the K-Lite Codec Pack. I can run HD (720p) video from my camera on MPC Home Cinema with no skips on my EeePC 901 without skipping.
Why laser it off? Just disable it in license agreements and say it's "not tested".

Of course there is, otherwise how could Slashdot bash Christianity?
I like how you imply that Sprint is GSM when they are CDMA...
Except that it's wrong.
Notice all the factual errors in all the accounts.
In the book, How to Win at Video Games, the author says something to the effect of
Imagine my shock when he was named "Mario" in Donkey Kong Jr. and even more surprise when they trademarked the name for Mario Bros.
That's what knees are for!
Tell that to Brazil.
So, basically, you're telling him not to respect and assist authority and to have fun with his friends instead.
I wonder how those messages will look in the teen years when he's ditching class to sleep with his teen girlfriend...
And Samuel L. Jackson did a cameo in Iron Man. All these movies were planned long ago. And to my knowledge the actors are all signed.
The TGIF block was aimed at families with Elementary age children. They are typically at home on Friday nights.
Firefly is aimed at the 15-30 crowd, who are generally going to HS football games and/or dating on Friday nights.
This is not true. I can assure you the officer marks "alcohol-related" or not.
Ah, but people inevitably give their password to a co-worker who then gets fired. The 2 month rule takes care of that situation.

That's what my family refers to as "defense".
That's why the Official Scrabble Dictionaries have a rule that the word must follow the official rules in 3 of the top 9 selling English dictionaries.
It may be marked as "foreign" in your dicitonary, but if it's not in 3 other ones, it counts.
Wouldn't that be...Qwyjibo? (It's a proper noun, after all.)

I just got a bunch of Blu-Rays at Best Buy last weekend for $9.99 and $14.99...
