  1. Nothing better than somebody dismissing your opinion because you don't meet the arbitrary definition of "nerd" that:

    a) They haven't told you
    b) They couldn't possible know if you meet or not and
    c) Is most likely gate-keeping garbage designed to protect themselves

So here's my nerd cred, since it's so important to you - first class diplomas in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, and Physics. Currently on the way to a first class degree in Social Policy and Criminology. Been board gaming since the 00s revival, programming since the 90s, video gaming since the 80s. Autistic, obsessive, overly intelligent and, for good measure, way more educated on these issues than you apparently are.

Still want to talk about who is "nerd" enough to talk in a "culturally correct way" about the semantics between supporters of white nationalist ethno-states and "Nazis"?

  2. No you didn't, and none of it is true.

  3. Feel free to cite your sources that aren't discredited pseudo-science bunk like Ray Blanchard et al. We can have a proper discussion then.

I find it interesting how Slashdot ACs are generally pro-science and anti-bullshit until something they personally rely on like gender is called into question, at which point it's all "the social sciences/psychology/psychiatry aren't REAL sciences" accompanied by baby-like sobbing.

  4. None of that is true.

  5. Yeah, there's definitely nothing between those two things, such as a left-wing, socialist, democratically elected government like in Sweden. Good job.

  6. I'm fine, thanks. As long as people keep using Nazi slogans, Nazi symbology, and evoke the ideas of the Nazi party, I'll call the quacking, floating, duck-lookin' bird a duck.

I'm not sure what conversation you think you're helping by trying to make the distinction, but it's the not the conversation that ends up with people understanding and dismissing Nazi-style white nationalist fascism.

  7. In this analogy, the OP hasn't actually proven there's even a beach yet.

  8. As a trans person on Twitter, this happens to me all the time - in fact, one of the favourite hobbies of cis people on Twitter is to stalk my account and tell people not to associate with me.

At least this is based on things people provably say rather than anti-science nonsense.

  9. If you want me to pick between bot spam and Nazis, I'll take the bots thanks. Bots don't tend to try and entice people into supporting and defending white nationalism.

There is literally zero evidence for your claim that Gentile was a socialist. You even said yourself that there is a fundamental difference between how socialism and fascism organises. The Nazis called themselves National Socialists because the wind was blowing in the favour of the left and they wanted to brand themselves as the left wing choice, even promising some token socialist policies, but they took all their inspiration for the rest of their work from Italian fascism - racial superiority, rearmament, expansion, and consolidation of capital. They funded corporate cartels and corporations made the most of it.

There is literally nothing socialist about the Nazis except for branding. The above is, for all intents and purposes, pretty much garbage.

This one attack, by one person, killed and wounded more innocent people than all three major terrorist attacks in the EU in 2017 combined. 8 separate people in Spain carrying out separate attacks in concert failed to kill even half of the people that this one guy did with his easily obtained automatic rifle.

Americans need to stop dodging culpability for perpetuating the cultural and legal frameworks that enable this to happen over, and over, and over again.

  14. What are you talking about? The Labour manifesto specifically defines the rich as earning more than £80,000 per year which is only 5% of the population. Less than £10k and you don't pay any tax at all, even under the Tories.

Where are you getting £3,000 from?

  15. Your assumption is noted and is also wrong.

  16. Hiding what? Do you go to job interviews and they ask you if your wife has cancer? Is it relevant to your competency to work the hours you're contracted?

    Your employment system is fucked.

I assume, given the 'rampant agendizing(sic)' accusation, you have evidence to refute the above? It would be interesting, as Uber themselves did not refute any of it, nor did they take legal action against anyone printing it.

  18. As far as I'm aware, she's never claimed to be trans and there's no evidence that she is, either. The top three links regarding it on Google are all conspiracy theorists and assholes, the fourth is her saying that she refuses to confirm or deny it because the question itself is transphobic.

Even if this benefits those dang stupid people and their dang phones most of all, I think I'd be happy with it if it means potentially preventing me from doing something we are ALL prone to doing: occasionally screwing up.

Jesus fuck, THANK YOU. I walk to work every day, and I cross a busy dual carriageway, and at least 10-15 roads. I pay attention, but there will be the odd time when a song comes on my phone or a text comes through and I'll be momentarily distracted enough that I miss a crossing that this would stop me doing.

If occasionally losing 100% focus on what you're doing is "stupid", there's not a clever person on this earth.

  20. Wow, that's a lot of words.

Could have shortened that to "I don't understand how this 'feminism' works in practice but in this scenario I literally invented, liberals and feminists are all awful, I'm always right, and I'm willing to gloss over the entire history of sexual assault, the existing power imbalance between genders and classes, and pretty much the rest of reality of being a woman in America to keep that fiction going in my head. SEE HOW RATIONAL I AM"

  21. Are the feminazis still pushing sexist nonsense like this ? After what the electorate told them at the last election ?

I think what the election told feminists was that you can be on tape as admitting to abusing women and still get voted in as president?

That fact doesn't really shut feminists up so much as prove them right.
