Ya, fiscal conservatives have finally started asking why and when the Republican party switched from being fiscally conservative to morally conservative with a nose for PORK PORK PORK PORK PORK.
Of course, all the true small government fans have already left the Republican party, either for the Democrats, the Liberterians, or a quiet place out in the country that's off the grid. Nobody can say with any honesty that today's GOP and the overwhelming majority of it's support base is small government. You want small government? Stop regulating people's bedrooms.
I've never been without a.mil email account. Maybe the FBI can copy off of us, we seem to be able to pull it off. We could just sign them all up for GI Mail http://www.gimail.af.mil/, that's what I use for my home email account. Best part is you can use it from any.gov computer (and civilian computers as well)!
some post RotJ stuff in a TV series. Maybe we can get TV adaptations of the storylines in the books. Shoot, it's all already written, it's right there. Easy! Let's get us some Mara Jade!
On the brighter side, it makes it a lot easier to figure out what your opponents in the BGs have equipped.
Oh look! The whole opposing raid has their tier 2 lvl 60 gear! We die now!
In China, the Party has been working to reduce the rate of female infanticide. They allow people to drop off female infants at state hospitals, orphanages, and elsewhere, without penalty, and the girls are then raised by the state.
The downside of this is that to me it's somewhat creepy to have people raised entirely by a Communist State. But I guess it's better then death.
Also, the only penalty for exceeding the one-child limit is a monetary fine. Many wealthier families (yes, they have those in China) simply suck up the fines and have as many kids as they want. This is a roundabout Party way to ensure that any family with more then one kid is able to afford it, so they don't have people on welfare with 15 kids pumping kids out for a bigger check. Instead of financial bonuses for extra kids, it's more like a tax on having kids.
I learned all this when I asked someone in Military Intelligence who specializes in China what she thought of the one-child policy.
Truly a classic. I got my fiancee started on Penny Arcade about the same time I got her started on WoW. And suddenly, she got the jokes.
Always a beautiful thing, watching the birth of a new gamer. The only hassle was that she was emailing me PA comics that she thought I'd find funny... and that were already tacked up on my wall because I did think they were funny and I've been reading the comic forever.
Do they have to be cowards to be evil? Is cowardice required for dislike? The flaw with what the terrorists did on 9/11 isn't that they attacked someone who couldn't fight back, it's that they attacked a non-military target using weapons filled with non-military people. If they'd found a way to smack a cruise missile into just the Pentagon, it would have been military force against a military target and far less objectionable.
Attacking someone who can't attack you back is sound military principle, and it's why the military drops bombs on people from 10,000 feet instead of having a low-flying C-130 cruise along about 100 feet above the target while they kick dynamite out the back, to give the enemies a fighting chance at taking the plane out.
It's not like Blago wasn't already wildly unpopular. Of course, so was his predecessor. And so are all the Republicans tripping over themselves to try and replace him.
Illinois politics: Bipartisan Crony Corruption.
In the Air Force, shops are encouraged every budget cycle to go over budget. If you don't go over budget, then you must not need the money you're getting, and your funding gets cut. If you go over budget, you get more money.
Multiply that exponentially and you have the whole government.
Yeah, cause I can't see ANY problems with THAT. Somebody does something to cause an electrical disruption on the same frequency as the signal, perhaps a lightning strike nearby or even someone turning on a microwave or using a cell phone, and the hordes of toxic bees destroy the world. Of course, we'd design the bees to be sterile, right? Sadly, nature finds a way, and hordes of toxic bees destroy the world.

Because you haven't a clue that it is? Because it's by far not the worst case of cronyism out there.
Contracts for services provided to the US military in Iraq are. Tough to beat those.

I'm an explorer, didn't know that. Little bit of killer, but I don't go out of my way to gank. Usually.

Heckuva post, quarkscat I'm stunned that after all the screwups they've had, nobody has thrown these bums out.
