Amazingly, It's taken projects like End6 to try and drag people off of Internet Explorer 6 and older. For some reason, Microsoft just can't do it and those of us that are sick of fixing our aunt's computers after an compromised IE6 vulnerability killed it, have decided to do something about this. After of course upgrading said aunt to Firefox.
I third this. I've been using one for two years and love it. This chair is really good for taller people as well. I would just recommend getting it with the fully adjustable arms, which is the model I got for my wife. They help a great deal for long sessions at the bastard machine and when we're traveling and working, we really feel how much we miss them.
Yeah, price is an issue and it sucks that you have to put a price tag on your health, but such is the way it goes. I think it's a sound investment.
I actually had the complete opposite experience when I maintained Apples for a publication company. Every single one of them failed and failed big, multiple times. From hard drives dying to screen dying to the logic board dying. The 12" PowerBooks I have maintained in the past saw more types of death than Bill Murray in Groundhog Day. The 15" were much more reliable. This is the reason that Apple killed off the line as they had constant problems with them which required massive service. Those machines were one of the few instances where the extended warranty was a must-buy. Interesting that you had good experiences with them. Good to know that the whole batch wasn't lemony.
Yeah, it's the initiative of myself and a few others. The popup in indeed annoying, but basically the only thing that I can think of to get people to finally dump IE6! I can't believe that some of the sites I run still have somewhere around 50% usage of that hunk of junk. So, it's time to be annoying and it is only in IE6 that people see that; not even in IE7, so it's very, very focused. Glad you approve though.
Because IE6 is completely rotten in block level construction and is hell to write front end code for. Check out End 6! for more info. Sure, IE6 works, but technically, Netscape 4 does as well...
No robots.txt. No DOCTYPE declaration. No language meta tag. Wickedly bad scripting everywhere. Effing FONT tags littered through the site. Forms inside tables. Maybe they could update their Copyright date to even 2005 if not 2006? The list just goes on...
There is probably also something wrong with their directory structure which is why they don't show up at the top of the search results.
Seems they're mostly a victim of crappy web work and could use a bit of SEO cleanup to say the least. Google is just enforcing standards that Yahoo and MSN don't. I guess the new American way is that when you can't do, sue.
But I will undoubtedly get much more productive during the day... End6!

Really, it all starts with getting rid of the damned thing in the first place--End 6!
