I use Windows XP on my laptop every day. It never BSOD's on me, or gives me much bullshit. It's nowhere near perfect, but nowhere near unusable for me either. I use Firefox, not IE, FYI. Can someone link me a site that lists just how broken Windows really is, because I don't see it.
My Firefox on WinXP has been open about 8 hours and is using only 129 MB so far. I have 16 extensions loaded right now.

You don't need an extension for that; in userChrome.css add this code, changing the number if you want:/* resize search bar */ #searchbar {
width: 300px !important; }
You just shouldn't use tables for stuff like columns.
Why, do they not work right? Is there some IE quirk or bug I should worry about? Will children die if I use them? I just made a simple page using tables for equal height columns in about 10 minutes, and it works the same in Firefox, Opera and IE. All 3 columns end at exactly the same place. There is only one table in the document, and no spacer gifs. It is styled using CSS. The document uses a strict XHTML doctype, and validates as such.
I never understood why using tables to layout a page was considered a bad thing.
For instance, my installation of Acrobat eats up a large chunk memory just for loading, and doesn't let it go after I navigate away from the page. The PDF Download extension helps, but it isn't perfect.
Try the Foxit PDF Reader http://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf/rd_intro.php It loads instantly.
Linux has a strange name? Doesn't sound strange to me. GIMP does.
Not the best association to have for a program that's supposed to kill Photoshop. Not that it even comes close to doing that anyway.
didn't read summary or article
"Just add more homepages separated by semicolons." Its the pipe character "|" not the semicolon.
Great Idea! I think the new name should be IceWeasel! Way Cooler than Firefox!
Doing that would make 80% of the internet unreadable.

Did you miss the part about "locally hosted"? Meaning not on a website.
I just tried it in Firefox 2.0RC2, Opera 9.02, and IE, and Firefox was the fastest.

Who the hell keeps doing these crap posts?
I have never pressed on a URL on a printed page and expected something to happen.
Netvibes' new Cinnamon release has a pink theme that looks pretty good.
Oops sorry, didn't read whole post.

Oh yeah, forgot about that. Its just that many div+css advocacy pages can sound kind of preachy sometimes.
Forgot to link the page.
Mod up!
Agreed, but I like the current layout with these mods I made better. Makes it more consistent and sharp.

This user style removes most crap on myspace.
