Why won't let kids do anything, this coddling is out of hand and crazy. This isn't the only thing though, kids today are finding less and less to actually do. Why don't we as a society let kids learn about the real world? Why does this society try to grow children up inside of a bubble of ignorance. Gone are the days when children could just be themselves and play, now we have to watch out for the phantom pedophile behind every bush and tree. This country is living in constant fear and this has to stop, we are almost trained now to not help anyone (potential terrorist), suspect everyone (everyone is a terrorist/child molestor apparently), not talk to anyone (everyone is out to get you), why not just have everyone in chains wearing gas masks? This decade has been trying to make everything "kid friendly", kids are people too they deserve to know the truth about the world. Why can't we go back to where "the only thing to fear is fear itself"

Please if anything the downloading of music through P2P just helps the actual artist because it gets the music circulated and popular. The RIAA just gobbles up money and through the largest scam ever "pins down" "culprits" who may or may not have downloaded music and are too poor to fight back. The methods used to pin down "pirates" or as commen sence would call consumers are secretive and probaly deeply flawed. They are a mafia, you need them for marketing only and you have to give them your soul, earnings, and potential. Humans are practical, they go for the best solutions, and DRM, and these stupid limitations and walls just make it harder for the RIAA. I would pay for an MP3 I wouldn't pay for something I can hear only on one machine or through one (usually bad) player. Or on one operating system. We as consumers like choice and freedom, RIAA likes restriction and totalitarianism.

for one would everyone stop calling it mechanisms, it is really processes. Now under the processes it seems reasonable that the system, which is the entire body structure, including cognitive thought would access these parts in a way that will maintain the system. By this logic it is easy to beleive that because of the entire system's need for such a crutial element that that element would create itself when the system is pushed far enough. ---- In Chaos there is Order

it would be interesting if Apple continued to use PPC for its Power Macs. With the PowerPC G6 starting to be completed which will be double the speed of intel and sun, the power macs could still use them in it's power line. Maybe they could also use a Cell processor from IBM which hosts many processors. Only time will tell.

Ren'ai game player this will be a lot of fun I love dating simulators and this seems like an easier way of doing it. Most ren'ai games are not tentical hentai, but dating simulators with cool stories and interesting characters, and even though there is most of the time *there are many ren'ai games without a hentai element* it usually is involved with love element in the simulator. How many times has sex occumpanied dating? relationships? It is fun and sometimes erotic. Many anime's are also made from the stories in ren'ai games so they usually have other dealings. Play the Tokimeki Memorial series if you want a great taste of what I am talking about. They are stories and the relationships grow organically from the decisions you make, it is that simple and it rocks!

Don't worry when Windows becomes the only OS to run on Macs there will be NO DIFFERENCE between Macs and regular PCs. That way everything will be uniform and Macs will be cheaper just like Dell, HP and Gateway. How is running a Mac box running windows on Intel processors different than a HP running windows on processors? It totally kills their whole marketing ideal of creativity.

  11. Re:Like home school on Teachers Union Opposes Virtual K-8 Charter School · · Score: 0

As someone else who was home schooled for two years of my school life, I can say that my social life increased wile I was out of school. I met most of my friends during this time and interacted with people far more than before. This is how the school social scene boils down to, the idea that if they take a bunch of kids and teens from all different backgrounds. Throw them all together into the same building and force them to be there, not able to leave or even move around. I mean this is the highest sence of the term, like they need a pass or they have to ask the teacher to go to the nurse, (this can be very embarrassing for girls who have their period) go to the bathroom or even have a drink of water. They will all become friends in this minimum security prision. The "socializing" that you talk about turly doesn't exsist outside of a controlled enviorment. Such as, kids and teens arn't allowed to speak unless they raise their hand to ask a specific question about the learning. The "group work" is your very own chance to be forced to be paired up with the worst member of class yet this is the time the only socialization really takes place. In some isolated and controlled enviorment. It is almost funny how they don't even let you talk during that. It if you got put next to a stranger and someone said "SOCIALIZE". Or better yet they think we are forms of rabbits which they just put together and they live in harmony. They also tend to give EVERYONE in the school bogus "awards" in your elementry years because they want to make you think you acheived something. This of course paralizes you when you realize that you could have done no better than a kid that did nothing and got the same "award" Which also leads to the puppet or mock student elections that they hold which everyone knows are so meaningless words can't describe it. This doesn't even go near however the embarrassing and useless class of PE (yet again how they want your work, play, social life, and pretty much your whole life to revolve around this institution.) In this you are FORCED to stip in front of the whole class, change and then be FORCED to like a sport or some of the other pointless and unrewarding activity they make you do. Then be made fun of if you don't do it right or good. Recess or as they call it in prision as "The Yard" is where they take a bunch of kids who have been building up tensions all day are finally released, no wonder so many kids get beat up during this time. Although don't worry this is soon to be taken completely out of school so kids will just snap and go insaine when all of this rediculous behaivor is finally reached its maximum. Then in the end they spit you out into a world which everyone always says "is nothing school" so in other words if you are homeschooled you learn how actually deal with life or the "real world" and when you are in the "real life simulation" known as school you learn how to deal with school and nothing else. This comes from me, a male 18 year old graduate of 2006 that came in the top ten percent of my class and received many certifications and awards and scholarships. One for "Outstanding Character" (this one was a REAL award as in not one given by the school but by someone who looked at my record and gave real cash) because I also never got into a fight or ever got in trouble.

Well I for one am a mere 18 years old so I can say I am still part of this generation and I honestly don't care that much about NASA launching for yet another time an outdated shuttle into orbit. I guess my reaction could be one of "so what?" and "why?" is there any real reason why we do work in outer space at all? Every time NASA or some other country launches a shuttle into outer space we not only damage the ozone layer in incurable ways and for what? besides propaganda this hasn't done anything. I guess your daughter is right adults are stupid for wasting so much time, money, and human life on fruitless ventures. Even for science NASA has proven itself too much based in the military to accomplish anything.
