  1. excuses are like old diapers on Staying In Shape vs. a Busy IT Job Schedule? · · Score: 1

they all stink and noone wants em that sounds like a regular day in a busy armory like mine. its all about time management. i love to sleep in as late as possible (0610 usually for me) so i prep my stuff to the point where when its time to get up, im out the door in a minute tops. adjust your diet to include a healthy breakfast and many small healthful snacks. if you cant find the intestinal fortitude to sacrifice some of that me time for some real productive time, then do something to up your heartrate every time you get up to get a drink, a snack, a smoke, or go to the bathroom. as mentioned earlier, find a way to get a pullup bar near you and bang out a max set every time you do something. the better shape youre in the more energy youll have and the better youll sleep, so you can use those as building blocks to help you jump outta bed and do a quick workout-maybe a mile or two on the eliptical/exercise bike (if youre not already used to working out id advise against running because its high-impact), some situps, flutter kicks, jumping jacks, pushups....the process is continuous.

why bother with a solar charger when he can tap into AC from the generators, DC from the LAVs and trucks, and 7-tons have a cigarette lighter port! also, MRAPs have AC outlets on them. idk about the LAV, but on the AAV, i know of trackers that tap into the lighting for AC (idiots) and then folks who just mount an inverter on one of the batteries. get him an inverter and hell be fine.

  4. geeks dont go for pack runs? on Air Force Seeking Geeks For 'Cyber Command' · · Score: 1

tell that to the Marine sigint community. brawn and brains are not mutually exclusive. the air force just likes to mollycoddle their lil pookies so they dont get butthurt. the Corps sets its standards high no matter what job it needs done. fuckin zoomies just dont want to man up to the fact that they are in fact supposed to be WARFIGHTERS. as in COMBATANTS. last thing i want to do is have to drag some fattie out of a firefight or from a flaming humvee and get picked off because i cant lug him to safety fast enough. or worse, be hit myself and have to rely on some scrawny pencil-neck that feels his flak jacket is too heavy so he replaces the SAPI plates with styrofoam, and hes still strugglin to move with any speed and intensity.

  5. bending fiber on Flexible Optic Fiber Promises Cheaper Last Mile · · Score: 1

i dont know too much about the difference between civvy fiber and the milspec stuff, but i know ive tied knots in the stuff i trained with and had no real signal loss. fusion splicing has negligible losses too, and its just a button push from two separate fibers to flawless junction. so really, whats the deal? tactical fiber isnt that hard to handle, its just bigger.
