And USA corporations owns media and they use that media to control what is shown and told to people so they would think what is wanted in daily basis. It is not just you give money or you say "here is your apartment, live there". But that you organize a sponsor who supports you on the beginning. It is that you are teached and helped by people who have experience and wisdom to guide you trough hard times.

It is that when you get sick or accident happens, many others will take small part of your work and carry it trough the time until you have recovered and you return.

Socialism is about teamwork and caring others. It is about to help everyone to be independent and strong person where you don't have needs to harm anyone else.

But people who are independent, strong and work together can not be controlled. They can not be brainwashed, you can not terrorize them to accept greedy people demands and be exposed to such people suggestions.
So the sociopaths who does anything to come politicians or leaders, makes sure that there is no teamwork, independency, smart people, freedom of speech and thinking. They demand competition, they want people to fight, they want people to follow the show on TV while mens behind the curtains does all the planning for them, just to protect small group of greedy sociopaths who wants to control others.

The terrorists is not the one who lives in other country or who builds bombs... The terrorists is the person who works in government or big corporation and use terror and other similar tactics (like FUD).

In US, 1% of people has over 90% of wealth. While 99% needs to live with under 10% of wealth... It simply should not be possible, but it is because greedy people demands and controls that there is competition on markets, that there is competition on schools, that there is competition among people and they make everything with their power so people would not start work together and discuss freely and change opinions freely and that they would take part to topics what greedy people want them to forget or ignore.

Any system program, library, application program etc, does not work without operating system. Not even your development programs, text editors or others work without operating system.

You can download XNU operating system from Apple Open Source site. You can study code and even FSF has accepted Apple license what is used as Free Software license (still incompatible with GPL). From here http://opensource.apple.com/source/xnu/xnu-1699.24.8/ you can download whole source code for XNU operating system. You get Mach microkernel, I/O Kit, FreeBSD parts of network protocols, filesystems and so on. The microkernel in XNU operating system is 3.0 by version.

Android is just one distribution for Linux operating system. But unlike XNU, Linux is monolithic operating system. And Open Handset Alliance (what develops Android) is currently bringing Linux back to mainline. The Linux what is used in Android has been hosted as well on Linux GIT but it has just been own branch, now it is going to be joined back.

One reason why Android has been so successful, is that people don't know that they are using Linux operating system. Same thing is with Ubuntu, where people has false believes that they use "Ubuntu operating system" while they really use Linux Operating System and distribution called "Ubuntu". If they would know the truth, they would cry and have sleepiness nights wondering what they are going to do because "Linux" is so 'difficult to use'.

Apple did study Linux operating system and even made own branch with it, called MkLinux what is still available. Apple's idea was to make Linux a Server-Client architecture operating system instead a Monolithic and get Linux to Macintosh. In MkLinux project they sliced Linux functions to servers and used Mach microkernel with them and so on they got MkLinux. http://www.mklinux.org/

MkLinux were Apple's first Open Source project. Today Apple has dozens of Open Source projects http://opensource.apple.com/release/mac-os-x-1072/

Then Apple went, toke a Mach microkernel, Network protocols, Filesystems and few other OS functions from (monolithic) FreeBSD Operating System to as servers and made nice package with I/O Kit and got a XNU operating system what is a Server-Client operating system by architecture instead Monolithic like the Linux is.

It seems it has nothing to do with the license, as XNU operating system is 100% Open Source and Free Software as OSI and FSF have both accepted the license what Apple used to license that XNU operating system http://www.opensource.apple.com/license/apsl/ http://www.gnu.org/licenses/license-list.html#GPLIncompatibleLicenses Apple just wanted to get Server-Client architecture for their operating system instead monolithic.
Everyone knows the famous debate between Linus and Andrew about how Monolithic architecture is obsolete for operating systems and Server-Client architecture is the future.

Linux is great proof how monolithic architecture for operating system can be very powerful and flexible, when just watching list where Linux really is... Super computers, embedded systems (DVD players, DVB-boxes, Digital TV's), Desktop computers, Laptops, Workstations, Rendering farms, Home/Corporation servers and not to forget... Linux is most used operating system on smartphones... As Apple chose to use Linux as operating system in Android. There are other Linux distributions like Tizen, Harmattan, Bada (using RTOS operating system as well) and many others. Even Nokia bought few weeks ago a Norwegian software company "Smarterphones" what developed Linux distribution "Smarterphones" and Nokia might be planning to replace NOS (Nokia Operating System) and S40 (software platform + GUI) with it and that would mean Linux gets even more support.

In other hands.... while XNU can probably be second popular Open Source and Free Software operating system on markets... GNU projects own HURD operating system what is as well following a Server-Client architecture like XNU, Minix, NT... Has not get stable or ready at all.
FreeBSD is as well monolithic operating system and so is OpenBSD and NetBSD (according wikipedia).

GPL license is great for the community (read it like every human and every country and every government and every corporation) but it is not great for those who are greed, biased and very short sighted people who wants to slave others under their control and control when and what innovation is released and control that with patents and hiding knowledge what other humans has helped them to gain.

It is not wise to say that Ubuntu could really work on tablets just basing that to Unity.

As UBUNTU is not Unity. It is GNOME 2.x series. And GNOME would not work with tablets. As it is not designed for tablets and you can not so on modify it to work with tablets.

Why did Tablet PC's fail on tablet markets until Apple brought iPad?

Because Microsoft tried to push a WIMP interface with Windows applications to tablet.

A WIMP stands for Windows, Icons, Menus and Pointer (if you didn't know). And GNOME (at least 2.x) needs pointer and is about Windows and drop-down menus.
That Ubuntu now comes by default a Unity, does not make Windows, Icons, Menus and Pointer go away. Unity is just a launcher and a shell.

KDE SC would work on tablets, as it is designed to be customizable and it is possible to make so user does not see windows, drop-down menus and does not need a pointer. (Icons, menus, toolbars... everything is possible to hide or make so big that they come usable with fingers).

And KDE has done great job with the Plasma. As they have different shell for different devices.
    Plasma-desktop
    Plasma-netbook
    Plasma-mobile
    Plasma-active
    Plasma-Mediacenter

And thats it.... All KDE applications allows customization well to be possible fit on those device classes.
Canonical has not done anything than Unity and it does not fit to anywhere well.

Apple understood the problem, they have XNU operating system (Open Source btw) and lots of closed source sub-systems like Core animations and so on. And then they made a totally new shell for smartphone and tablet with totally new application design rules. They went and throw away the WIMP and toke just IM. Icons and menus (not drop-down).

And now Microsoft is trying to do the same, but totally wrong way. As they get second glass idea for GUI (Metro) and what was designed for smartphone (does not work so well when starting to add more functions and applications... the Zune interface does not work and Metro start screen is hard to understand) and they slaps it to desktop computers and tablets....

Desktop computers can not support Metro either. And tablets.... It is as well second glass GUI for it.

And Microsoft has pushed the "Ribbon" interface for its applications, what it copied from Lotus document writer...
And it does not work well on tablets either.... Apple and Open Handset Alliance has understanded this and made new GUI's for tablets what fits for them.

Everyone else than Microsoft and Canonical knows what to do. That every GUI needs to be designed per device class and you can not push single GUI to all of them.

And it is funny, that Canonical what is the Linux communitys Microsoft, does same thing as MS does.... Are they collaborating someway?
