Yes, paying for all email. I can't see any drawbacks to that solution.

How about instead of elecrtronic mail, we devise a system where people write letters on physical paper and then we deliver those letters to the recipients. We could charge a nominal fee for the delivery, and that should end all "junk mail", right?

You were semi-correct up until the "for the same price". All the reviews I have seen for tablets that are "substandard, lacking, unpolished, or any other number of descriptive words" the prices of the tablets have been in the $100-300 price range, most in the $100-200 range. Please point out any Apple tablet that sells for anywhere near that price range as I would be interested in seeing it.

Would you compare two cars if one cost $20,000 and the other cost $50,000 as the same class of cars? I seriously doubt it. Yet people seem to have no problem ripping tablets that cost 1/3 the price of an iPad for not being an iPad.

Out of curiosity, do you know anyone who has actually recovered a laptop successfully using LoJack? Because the claim of being ex-cops who know how to work with law enforcement sounds great and all, but how true is it? And are they claiming (or inferring) to get preferential treatment or even "bending the law" due to being ex-cops? If so that is a bit bizarre.

Ok, so the thief steals it, re-installs Windows but never directly connects it back to the internet. He then sells it on Craigslist, and when the person who bought it connects it to the internet, it leads back to a person who didn't steal it. Or if they really know what they are doing, modifies or flashes an already modified BIOS to the machine and takes out the LoJack completely.

Or the most likely - victim tracks down the vicinity where it is reported the stolen laptop is. Gets the technically clueless police department involved who don't understand what you are trying to tell them, and are unwilling/unable to help. This has happened to several of my friends while tracking stolen cell phones.

I understand the point that you could not personally do sales, neither could I for very similar reasons. But I am not pretending that all sales people are evil and out to dick you over, even if some are. Salespeople are like regular people- some are good and some are sleazy.
