It looks like it's just a local law here in New York City so I guess it's not everywhere. Sorry, my mistake.

Even shooting a laser through a public space (meaning anywhere outdoors) in the US is considered a misdemeanor. Pointing at a police office is a more serious crime because they may mistake it for a gun.

So while 'sky pointing' is advertised as a feature, it doesn't actually mean that it may be used that way.

I was simply clarifying how the parent could get the 3 systems for the price of 1 ps3 from. It wasn't my idea.

Seems that console wars bring out the worst in people.

Microcenter has a $100 rebate for xbox 360, so:

    Wii - 250.00
    PS2 - 129.00
    Xbox 360 - core system - 199.00
    = 578.00

    Less than the $599 PS3.

  7. too cheap on Sony Firm On PS3 Pricing · · Score: 1

They could have charged more for it (let's say $800) and they would still sell out the first batch of consoles. Then they could drop the price to something resonable 3-6 months later. Now the money is going to all the people selling them on ebay rather than Sony.

Didn't the xbox drop by $100 only 6 months after launch?

This situation is really stupid for people who have to return home under the new rules and have no option of just leaving the laptop at home.

Hopefully they will come to their senses before I have to fly back in 10 days.

  13. Must kill programmers on Jaffe Ditches Games With Stories · · Score: 1

The strongest raw real emotions in videogames are usually not the result of the story. Bad camera angles and controls during endless platform jumping often cause anger, rage, and even physical retribution when the controller meets the wall. One starts to ponder how cruel the world is. Fear and anxiety - random crashing does the job. Will I make it to the next savepoint? Triumph and defeat - what greater defeat is there than finding out 80% through the game that you can't finish Beyond Good & Evil because the key you need to continue appears above the ceiling and while the problem is known, there is no official patch.
