    So you claim that nuclear power plants produce less waste than the waste generated by creating wind turbines ?

    I would like to see some figures on that ( not saying it's impossible , as nuclear power plants both produce a lot more energy , and a lot more waste ).

    True.

    I'm pretty sure she would be the only one who would have noticed it ( looking at how her house looks in Google Street View ) . You don't exactly use Google Street view for viewing lingerie.

    Most people won't notice it , as they are not looking for that. Some might notice it , but as they don't live in the area , they wouldn't know who it belongs to.

    And the people that do live in the area could have seen it by passing by the house anyway.

    You know what makes it scary? That the mere accusation is enough to convince many people that you've committed the crime. I sincerely fucking hope it happens to you, and soon.

    You know what's the worst : hearing all this , i should be extremely offended , marching on the streets protesting this with outrage . But here i am sitting in front off my computer , doing nothing.

    And what about two seperate entities merging to become one being . How can that have a soul ( and not two souls ).

    Because that's exactly how we humans are created ( male sperm and female ovum ).

    So , if we assume that each individual has exactly one soul , how does that soul end up there . Do both cells have half of a soul ?

    Even so , what about identical twins ? Do they each have half a soul ?

    Recylcing should actually be very lucrative , because you get payed twice : they pay you for taking the waste , and then after you process it , you can sell the resulting endproduct.

    That's indeed a problem : regulation or no regulation .

    The idea of net neutrality on it's own is good , but it is a form of regulation by the government . There's always a danger that it can be used/altered to feature a certain agenda.

    The only thing needed in this case is avoid monopolies on the ISP market . That way , competition can play a role in the decisions made by the ISP's . If my ISP then introduces a tiered internet , i can simply go with a provider that doesn't .

    Physical labor is actually better than a desk job in some ways, because it allows you to work off stress.
    Sitting in front of as desk all day builds up a lot of stress , without a chance to relieve it.

    Ideally , your work should be a combination of mental and physical challenges , but i haven't seen any jobs that fit that description.

    Tyranny of the majority is not tyranny , it's democracy.

    The reason is in the meaning of the word of 'majority' , which are a lot of people
    A lot of people , with lots of different ideas , and who are each in a sense part of some minority.

    The opposite of this is tyranny of the minority , which are a lot less people , and as such , much less likely to cover the ideas of the whole society.

    Democracy is not perfect , but it's a lot better than tyranny of the minority.

    Offcourse , you could also make decisions simply based on what's best solution for everyone . But society is not ready for that.

    The problem with religion is that it allows people to perform atrocities in the name of such religion , because religion cannot be questioned ( it's the word of the , so you must follow it without thinking about it ).

    Religions are a means of imposing power . Always have been , always will be.

    So the religion is not being 'subverted' . It's just serving it's intended purpose.

    Well , there the "living in the moment" actually comes in . It's not about doing what you like to do : it's about doing the task without thinking about the how bad the task is , or how long it is going to take.

    The test failed, so what ? That's just the way it is, it's part of the process. Just continue .

    The reminds me of time managment : you divide your workload into 4 sections :

    - important and urgent tasks : you do them right away
    - important tasks , that are not urgent : you do them when you have some time in between
    - urgent tasks , which are not important : you delegate to someone else
    - unimportant , non urgent tasks : you leave them , they will solve themselves.

    Whereas if you are not wealthy , the outcome is quite clear.
    Doesn't exactly defeat the point that the wealthy can get out of this more easily than the poor.

    To me , the music industry is much like a drug cartel :

    - They engineer music in such way that our brains get addicted to it . There's nothing creative about it , it's just knowledge on how sound affects the brain
    - They make sure the song gets played on the radio ( giving you a free drug sample so you get addicted )
    - When you are totally hooked on the song , they want you to pay for it
    - If you don't pay for it ( by downloading the song ) , they send some guys to beat you up ( they sue you )

    What determines how much you are willing to pay? How do you determine which features are must-have? If you think those decisions are not being constantly manipulated by others, guess again.

    The funny thing with tv ads is that, while i usually remember the ad itself , and the type of product being sold , i often mistake the brand itself.
    I feel a bit bad about that : It must be frustrating to pay for ads , and then see the competition run away with the profit.

    They most certainly do ( it's the "Belongingness/Love/Friendship" need mentioned above )

    The only problem is that because they value "Belongingness/Love/Friendship" , more than money or power , they will not have much money or power ( they would give it all away ) , so no one will listen to them.

    Still , it's not impossible for Applet to try to lock down the Mac . They wouldn't even be the first with that idea.

    Remember "Trusted Computing" ?

    A lot of software/hardware companies want nothing more that to lock down everything , as it means great profit for them.
    The only reason they are not going for it , is because the users don't want it.

    Apple actually has a good chance at this : their user base is already used to devices being locked down. So they might get away with it.

    I don't know who told that DRM is needed to prevent cheating , but i must admit , it is a clever way of getting people to support DRM : If you don't support it , you are branded a cheater.

    While that is correct , it's not the whole picture : When our ancestors moved to colder areas ( like Sweden ) , they adapted to the colder climate , and as such , their evolution followed a different path .

    So while everyone has a common ancestry , everyone has followed a different evolutionary path .

    The result is that today's Swedes will be more resistant to cold than today's Africans . And offcourse , today's Africans will be more resistant to heat than today's Swedes .

    This assumes that the Ghandi was the only civil rights defender in India, while the truth is, he is just the first successful one. You just haven't heard of a lot of people who were shot out of hand.

    The thing is, if you repress people, they tend to resist and eventually, they will break free. How this will happen: peacefully or they will murder the hell out of you and all your followers is your choice
