Lol , being a Belgian citizen i suddenly feel great : we certainly have beer much is much, much better than stella artois ( which to me , is pisswater ).
If you ever come to Belgium, let me know . I'll introduce you to our finest beers.
The question is offcourse whether they used the magnets while stating their research. Maybe it doesn't work , but because they used the magnets , they are forced to lie , and state that it does work.
I don't think this will work on politicians. They seem to have a natural resistance against the truth. However, since they won't be able to tell lies , maybe it will just shut them up. Which is fine by me:-)
Trust me , i'm sure that $0 copy is much much safer. All you have to do is read the comments section. If it says 'VIRUS' , 'confirmed VIRUS' , then you pretty much know not to download it. In other words, you have a complete community out there who is filtering the bad the stuff , and thus improving the quality enormous. And the way bittorent works , that which is really good will be shared the most.
I read the summary , like everyone else does , which only describes 'a password' . Which , if you *read* my comment , it's pretty clear that i was thinking about that ( like the password to a central database , for example ).
I didn't make the connecting with the master password, because i was expecting them to release the password ( not complain about someone else releasing it ). I already had that file lying around here for months:-)
Funny that you also assume 'stupid shit' . In some ways , we are all alike , i guess:-)
I have said it before : it's better that something is leaked to everyone , than to only a select few people. So, if the master password is leaked, this is the correct action to take, to prevent that only a select number of people use this to there advantage.
If it's the password to a file which already been downloaded by thousands of people, i don't see the problem at all , because then it's intended to be shared , so it's only a matter of time before the password is revealed.
I was assuming this was a password to something that wasn't shared, in which case they can easily change the password.
this proves a leak is possible within wikileaks itself, and as such , they should try to fix it. It's better that the password is released to everyone, than to only a select few who would benefit from it.
I assume all wikileaks has to do is see the password, and change the password everywhere it was used. However, their reaction seems to indicate it's not that simple.
But the fact that they bitch (and sue ) about it , rather than trying to fix the actual problem , is at least ironic. A little self-reflection wouldn't hurt , it would only make them better.
It depends. To check the signature , you need the signature, and a public key to verify it.
All an attacker has to do is use his own private key to sign the file , and then replace the public key with his own. Then it would be verifying just fine.
Offcourse, if you have the public key ( rather than getting it from the site ) , you will know something is wrong.
They shouldn't be upset when someone gets shot , in the same way that someone you warned about eating donuts shouldn't be upset when they gained a few pounds.
In other words : Those that close their eyes when freedom is taken away , do not have the right to be upset when people take matters into there own hands to take them back.
Sorry , i couldn't make that out from 'Asmaa Mahfouz' . Again , had i read the article in full, i might have realized that. Guess i'm just lazy today.
Still , that doesn't change anything : she is not inciting violence. On the other hand, seeing the violence done to women in these countries, i would applaud her even if she did.
I'm not sure what's dickish about it ( the second phrase obviously ) : it's a warning , a concern.
You could just as well be saying " If you keep allowing banks to take high risks , don't be surprised if the savings of your people are one day at risk " . Or , in a more personal setting : "if you keep eating all that junk food , don't be surprised if you gain a few pounds"
He seeing a flawed system, and it's possible results , and he's warning about it. If there were more people like him , the world would be a better place.
Having read the article now ( should do that more often ) , i don't think this is a case of 'incitement to violence though' . He's stating a fact, namely that if you are not giving the people rights , people will eventually take matters into their own hands.
So he's giving arguments for giving rights to people , in order to prevent violence. This is part of why you have a Constitution : "to ensure domestic tranquility"
Problem is , what exactly is 'incitement to violence" . In this case, there's no doubt though : calling to have people executed , is certainly incitement to violence.
It's a thin border , and there are people who will always be incited , regardless of what you say , because they just want an excuse to be violent.
Isn't that in violation of the GPL ? Linux should sue Microsoft.
Space Balls :-)
You are forgetting the cost of education people, so they know why a weak password is a bad idea.
So it doesn't cost nothing.
However, the benefits certainly outweigh the costs.
But that's the problem : they don't see the long term benefits , just the short term costs.
I don't know : we seem to have no problem killing off our own species, much less other species on this planet.
At our current stage, and encounter with an alien species would be disastrous for us.
So if they mean well , they will avoid interaction at all cost.
So if aliens do interact with us in the near future , they probably won't mean well.

Actually it is, all the more so when compared to the alternatives available there.
As a Belgian citizen, i second that.
Though it's a matter of taste i guess : i'm sure some beer which is loved here, won't find a market in the US.

Try getting that for your $1 copy.
We are talking about 2000 innocent people being gunned down. It doesn't matter that it was on Tienanmen Square or not it . It happened.
Indeed they don't deny it , why should they : fear serves them well.

On average we spend an hour in the bathroom every day
Am i the only one who thinks this is grossly overstated ? I'm only getting to like 15-20 minutes a day maximum.
I thought a Von Neumann machine was supposed to be a self-replicating machine ( able to make copies of itself) ?

The tools are consistent, there are just a lot of them, specifically suited depending on the task.
