I would encourage a trade that cannot be outsourced. Electrician, plumber, A/C repair, etc. Once you've worked for someone else making b.s. money for a few years it's painfully easy to start your own business in those fields and make more than most engineers.
I dropped out because I found I could make the same money without the degree and am generally making more than my age-peers because I started the experience/raise/promotion cycle about 2 years earlier than them with the added benefit of having paid off my tiny little bit of student debt very quickly. Of course, I'm working in a field that doesn't require a P.E. which makes a huge difference.
Bluetooth is yet another antenna draining power rather than a dock port which may be charging while docked. There's a place for both in the market I think.
Being a toy language doesn't mean it's bad. I rather enjoy it as such. I have pretty much replaced perl/bash scripts with python. My understanding (perhaps incorrect) was that Redhat had embraced it quite a bit and a lot of the the GUIs for configuration and such (read: not complex GUIs) were written in python.
Java has two primary things wrong with it.. The first is that it SUCKS at making local GUI apps. The second is that the first versions were painfully slow and left such a horrible taste in some peoples' mouth that they will never recover. The latter issue has largely been resolved with VM improvements and hardware. The other.. well write your GUIs in C#.
I don't feel it's a stretch to suggest that if Dalvik had used the C# language instead of the Java language that there would have been lawsuits related to C#/.NET. But yes, your point is not lost on me.
The resolution to authorize the use of force in Afghanistan and Iraq was worded such that we could go anywhere that there is an Al Queda presence. So no he did not ignore the War Powers Act, but he and pretty much every President/Congress for several generations has ignored the Constitution wrt a declaration of war.
I'm not claiming to like Obama at all.. but honestly if this sort of procedural stuff was at the forefront of his attention during his first 100 days that'd be great, because it would mean that we didn't have two wars and a collapsing economy. I doubt he was even aware of it during the first 100 days. People act like the POTUS is supposed to be omniscient wrt every nook and cranny of previous administration policies from day 1. Be happy, he's up for re-election and now we can FOIA all the stuff that happened during his first 3 years.. so the timing is actually *bad* for him if he's trying to hide something.
Most of the airports are owned by local/regional governments. They lease out the day to day operations to private companies, but they're owned by government. Secondly the requirement for the unconstitutional search comes from the federal level. The airport may not choose to skip the scanning/groping regulations.
At the end of the day though; someone touching my crotch very briefly (trust me, they don't want to be touching me any more than I want to be touched) isn't going to give me cancer.
No it wont' give you cancer, but it should be considered an unreasonable search under the Constitution.
Where would this fit in the market? My first thought is things with high number of threads but low compute complexity like web servers or something but Oracle essentially flopped in that arena with their ultrasparc or whatever it was with a bunch of threads. It's possible ARM is very fast but I'm only accustomed to seeing it in set top boxes, phones, and such. My understanding is they're great on power consumption but not so great on compute speed...
For about $5 you can get a pre-paid [insert credit card brand] and tie that to your iTunes account if you're going to let your kids mess around with it.
I think most people are misunderstanding me. I don't support the TSA feeling up grandma. I'm saying that people put up with it because they are scared. If I recall correctly the Germans did a lot of really bad stuff *during* WWII because of fear.
I'm not saying it is, but it could be the most amazing piece of economic wizardry ever concocted by man-kind but the electorate is simply unwilling to put up with any more spending. Both sides of the aisle know this. I think Obama is genuine (at least as genuine as a politician can be) in suggesting that he believes his bill is helpful, but understands it's a non-starter. He has to run around saying they should do it though because otherwise he'll be "the guy with no plan."
No one, I repeat no one is going to make cuts at the DHS. Even if they only cut obviously wasteful projects/programs no one is willing to be the guy who cuts DHS before we get attacked.. and we'll get attacked, it's just plain statistics.

When I plug my wife's ipod touch into my computer it doesn't show up as anything.
The average user won't carry around a USB stick.

I suspect it would have evolved into a 404 error.
Being a CEO is easy, takes all of about 30 minutes of paperwork and costs less than $100.
When was the last time that this country declared war? How many wars are we currently fighting in?

Clinton was disbarred.

Yes it does. Sensationalist rhetoric gets votes. It's really the only way to get things done in an American Idol world.

If the people were truly demanding it, the politicians would do it.

I've always found communists to be quite pithy
