Israel has no confidence in Obama.
They will move first.
They gain nothing from waiting.
I hope I am wrong, but history says I'm not. One day people will (again) realize that the economy is not the most important thing in their life.
How much is a 401(k) worth when the world is at war?
The *two* founding responsibilities of the Federal Gov't are to provide for the defense of the Nation and to regulate interstate commerce.
Let me know if you find out where it says it is the Gov't responsibility to provide the *means* and not just the *environment* for the pursuit of happiness.
With Obama and an increasing democrat control in Congress we will sink into an ever increasing welfare-driven society. There is no self responsibility left. And personal success is beaten down as a disease.
Do your self a favor and actually look at his record and read about his rise to power.
Its not a point of view issue. He is statistically one of the most partisan and liberal senators. His relationships would bar him from gaining any level of security clearance. He has never run any organization in his life. The only experience he has is as a pep rally leader and spending other people's money.
The article is silly with its anti-Microsoft, anti-DRM rhetoric without even considering that there wouldn't even be online music sales without some kind of promise of secure DRM.
Keeping out of the politics of DRM and MS-- (IMHO) the only reason why there are 'online music sales' is because the RIAA is/was threatened by 'illegal' file trading. Illegal music trading (ala Napster, gnutella, etc.) is what I see as this shift to people accepting digitally delivered music in place of a physical cd-- a choice that is now SAVING the record labels millions.
Reading their press releases, http://www.riaa.com/news/guestcolumns/milescopelan d.asp, they say CD's are not overpriced because it costs 'so much to make'. How much does it cost them when all THEY need to do is release it into public via Apple's Musicstore, (The New) Napster, Musicmatch, etc.
People need to learn not to let an AOHELL disk within 10 feet of their computers!
Its not just about the 'aol disk' we all mock. AOL, or a 'lite install' of it gets bundled with a lot of computers (ala Dell).
You also must place some blame on companies like Dell who don't give you any 'none' option. Hell-- they wouldn't even let me get a laptop WITHOUT windows.
Don't even get me started on MSN's ISP attempt and MSN Explorer.
you just named some of the reason why i like Mac's application 'installation' model.
single executable, placed where you want, runs when you want. Although there ARE exceptions in this, thats how it is for most programs.
Although kinda cool (in the technical sense).
If all it takes is some buck-toothed SVG girl closing her eyes to get you off, there are much better options out there, like the local Greyhound stop

sorry, quick edit. Should have said 'whats the difference if **Windows Media-Based** DRM works...'

On a side-point, whats the difference if DRM works or doesn't when everyone is using Apple's iPod http://www.usatoday.com/tech/products/gear/2006-09 -06-ipod-rivals_x.htm, which uses AAC.
As far as AAC vs OGG vs. MP3, See http://slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=03/04/29/115420 4&mode=thread.
