Analysts are predicting lower growth, not negative growth. And since the market isnt growing as fast as wallstreet likes, share prices take a hit. Apparantly, having sales of only $4.8 billion is not enough for them, it must be $5 billion...
Yes. How hard is it to realize that paying $15/mo for (similar) entertainment is a better option than shelling out $50 every few weeks?
No. How hard is it to realize that paying $50 flat for (similar) entertainment is a better option than shelling out $15 every month?
Although this isn't about flat vs monthly pricing... its about MMORPG's, and not all of them require monthly fees... i.e. Guild Wars. There are also plenty of other games out there that can entertain for a long time without monthly fees. i.e. RTS's like starcraft, warcraft or FPS's like counter-strike,battlefield...
I think the drop in console sales is due more to the lack of quality console titles and people holding out for the next generation (yes, yes, i know 360 is here... but how many must-have games does it have?)
I once brought one of my computers in for servicing under warranty. It was a failed cdrw drive. they replaced the drive and then installed a bunch of random crap on my computer, such as powerDVD, Nero, some wierd music manager, and get this.... some MP3's that weren't mine...
processors are moving away from out-of-order execution toward in-order, more VLIW-like designs that rely heavily on multithreading and compiler/coder smarts for their performance
I have stopped following processor developments recently, but is this really happening? Between Intel and AMD, the only chip I've heard of that was VLIW and relied on the compiler was Itanium, and I don't see why AMD or Intel would risk repeating that mistake* again any time soon.
*I dont think Itanium was a mistake because it relied on the compiler or had cool hardware (like hardware support for software-pipelining). I think it was a mistake to push for Itanium when their compilers didn't seem ready to take full advantage of it.
Those are a combination of several federal (canadian), provincial, and university scholarships. and no, there are no caps on what i can recieve, although after getting major scholarships, i can't be a TA for my department.
If you go straight to grad school, there's a big risk that you'll spend $40,000 and fail to focus on the right skills.
or you can get scholarships which are significantly higher than ones found in undergrad and MAKE $40,000 a year going to grad school. Actually, this year, I made $55,000;) For some, grad school is a decent paying job:)

they should get TV makers to prevent me from changing the channel when commercials start too.
