Works in Germany and France, where you regularly see police and military with semi (or fully) automatic rifles... After all, aren't we supposed to emulate the "better" models in Europe?
I have a cousin in active service as a Marine. Last time he was flying home from Afghanistan (commercial flight), he was in his fatigues, with his rifle and pistol (sans ammunition). The TSA confiscated his 1.5" bladed Swiss Army knife, but he was allowed to carry his firearms and his 7" Ka-Bar fighting knife was perfectly fine. Reason? Government-issued weapons are exempted from confiscation.
No, they're doing harm to your property. You're perfectly free to sue them for damages; I don't know a single big-or-little L Libertarian who would disagree...
And if the one you voted for doesn't get in, you still have to deal with it. I've never had a corporation poll my neighbors and decide that I had to work with them...
And likewise, the converse is also true; just because you can point to one instance where it may not suck does not mean that all of it does not suck. But hey - I was promised I could keep my plan, and that I would save $2500 per year, on average. Both of which are complete lies. Lie to me twice, I'm not going to believe much of what else is being pushed...
To the mods who rated the parent flamebait... HOW? Everything is factual, including the fact capital gains taxes are about to rise, at the express desire of the Obama Administration... I guess politics trumps reality on/.
So the problem is the messenger, not the message? Do you find any problems with their analysis or facts, or just don't like who's laying it all out for you?.
This attitude (it's from Fox/Heritage/ConservativeSource so it's bad!) is what's wrong with politics and Government today. Focus on the style and source rather than the substance of the message. Thanks for taking things down yet another notch!
I'm a small business guy (3 people, total), and we have - or, as it's turning out, had - affordable healthcare. I'm 42, family history of cancer, overweight, overworked, and paid $110 per month. It was a catastrophic plan with a $3500 annual deductible, but $20 co-pays for my biannual physicals. Great, eh? Except the new rules are making my plan "not Government approved" and thus it's being dropped. My option now is a variety of $400+ per month plans, for about the same coverage. Oh sure, I don't have that big nasty deductible, but I have to come up with $3600+ more per year for my insurance. More than my deductible. And a guaranteed (rather than potential) expense every year. Thanks, Obamacare!
and it's budget is NOT a lack of income; it's the 35% increase in spending over the last 5 years. Spending increases that GREATLY outpace inflation and population growth combined. Olympia (WA State capitol) was looking for more money to recklessly drive spending even higher, rather than first looking at the reason for the budget crunch - the reckless high spending they've been doing for the last 5 years.
Huh, thought flash wasn't an option in the first place, meaning that trying to play back flash on your iOS device would consume LESS power than h.264 through a dedicated hardware decoder... Doesn't take much power to render a black rectangle!
Check Anandtech's review of the Macbook Air. Their battery test shows that flash and XviD both chew up about the same amount of battery (130 and 137 minutes battery lost, respectively), basically reinforcing my original statement, and your experience. Video decoding is pretty much the same in terms of processing power and battery consumption for most devices, not "an order of magnitude" different.
Verizon? T-Mobile? Sprint? No 3G on those networks? I'm about 5 miles from my telco office, and I have a RADSL system that provides around 1 Mbps symmetric for $30/month. Alternatively, I use my Verizon phone for 3G (with WMWiFiRouter) and get a bit better speeds when out and about (but lower pings). I'm positive there is another option...
Let me Twitter a few titles to you...

Lunacy, indeed!
Refused based upon legal orders from the Justice Department, of course...

The inner Earth is already populated, there's no room for us in there...
Let me come back to this later...
Why does *our frame* matter so?
Because I'm the center of the fucking universe - I post on /.!
That's what I need - a dog that sheds seeds rather than hair!

Most of China is due west of CA; NW of CA is mainly Russia and the Arctic.
What next, will the US demonstrate that cars can be made with tail fins?
If they did, and actually carried through on the demonstration, maybe we wouldn't have had to bail them out...

Time for Oracle to circle the wagons and call for the cavalry!

Medicare administrative costs are higher - not lower - than for private insurers. It's all how you factor the "ratio of cost" - per dollar spent, or per patient served.

A factor of 10 difference, as the grandparent posted?
Yes, because decoding H.264 is so much less CPU intensive...

Curious about where you live... You have only cable as an option, no DSL, no 3G, no satellite, no WiMAX? Just - cable?
