It's easy to go to the store and pick up case of beer, buy it, bring it home and drink it. You also pay a deposit on the containers. (M$)
You can however brew beer. It takes time and energy. The process is sometimes tedious. Nothing between cleaning the containers, to mixing and heating the ingredients, to putting it into the second container to get rid of the yeast sludge, or even finally bottling. It is time consuming. The end result is pretty satisfying. (BSD/Linux)
There are attempts to make the brewing process easier. Ex: Mr.Beer, but they are hokey and can be expected to be well... second rate. (Lindows)
Where does this lead? The majority of people will buy Budweiser... it's the industry standard, you can't go wrong. Even if it's boring, it's beer. Did I mention, it's easy?

His books are so humorus, I tend to buy them straight from amazon.co.uk to get them ASAP.
My track ball is optical, its awesome, it glides and it needs cleaning... once every few meals with greasy finger foods... (like the MS super mouse wouldn't need to be cleaned then?)
I don't understand the innovation... (should I spray paint my trackball silver to learn more?)
I like not having to even move my arm... only my thumb...

PS i do acknowledge the interesting idea of not having to use a patterned mouse pad...(wonder how it's done)
I'm glad that ATI responded to civilized protests. I hope that the rest of the computer world will continue to respond like this, even if it takes a while...
I love the adminspotting shirt idea, when I first saw the adminspotting post, I took it and made it into a 11x17 poster (grey-scale laser), and it's been on several walls in this area ever since. I should try to use the D size plotter I have access to... that could be cool...

Hey,
They should put a disclaimer saying search results are wieghted by cash contributions. I loved Altavista... Why does money always ruin good things?

Bring on more quickies!
How do Macs deal with having the information copied to a hard drive? Esp. an HFS cd to a linux ext2 partition, then being shared via netatalk?
