The country's Internet service providers were running a malicious piece of code that was recording users' login information when they went to sites like Facebook. By January 5, it was clear that an entire country's worth of passwords were in the process of being stolen right in the midst of the greatest political upheaval in two decades. Sullivan and his team decided they needed a country-level solution — and fast.
Please tell me that they turned on https for logins by default. Because that is what they should have done.
they claim to be far along in the process of commercializing their invention.
Since this purportedly releases radiomination, I'd feel a lot more comfortable if they bothered to develop some understanding of what's really going on before selling their gizmos to any gullible Thomas, Richard and Harold who will then radiominate the unsuspecting public.
No worries. It's impossible for them to radiominate anyone.
Yeah, and as more and more people stop watching TV, the amount of ads that show up in commercial breaks on Hulu grows. It's up to two, now, from just one -- don't you think that by the time TV "goes away," it will have reached parity, rendering this argument obsolete?
And DVDs. I can barely tolerate "previews" for old movies on DVDs I purchased. I don't want coke commercials.
but what if it's a law like "don't step on the grass"?... unless people carry a personal lawyer with them everywhere, it would be impossible to avoid entrapment.
Violent protest is not an act whose legality requires a lawyer to determine.
I don't need my stories handed to me on a silver platter, but the level of alternate meaning you're suggesting would require far more obvious clues to be believable for me.
The fact that there have literally been hundreds of Neos is enough to convince anyone.
Re:I agree, how could they be at 4 anyway?

The Matrix Re-Reloaded

Dude, I thought at the end of 2 that they were going to go with a "you idiot, they're still in the matrix, the solution to people not being able to handle it was just to fool them into thinking they had escaped so they'd stop fighting it" approach.
After all, THAT would at least have explained better why Neo was able to sense the damn squidbots and blow them up.
yeah, I had egg on my face after convincing people about this. It also explained the "cyclical" pattern that was described. My personal theory was that the machines won a long time ago, felt bad about killing all the humans, so created a bunch of programs to mimic them for study.
It's still illegal (conspiracy) for the officer to order you to do the illegal act. The problem arises with all of the laws we have in modern society. Sure, you can know that doing something wrong when requested is probably illegal, but what if it's a law like "don't step on the grass"? Say an officer is directing pedestrian traffic after an event. He tells people to walk across some grass, and into a cage where he tells them all they're under arrest for walking on the grass... Even when an officer is not identified as an authority, it's still conspiracy for him to suggest an illegal act, and unless people carry a personal lawyer with them everywhere, it would be impossible to avoid entrapment.
My friends and I used to do that back in middle school to pass the time. Not build artificial retinas; balance pencils on our fingers (on eraser or tip).
Call me when they achieve these speed records by increasing solar power yield and not by paring down the structure of the cars below the safety standards of soapbox derby racers.
I don't think you understood me. Teh erors lyke this maik reeding hard and thus thinking about what you're redding harder. I make exceptions for ESL folk, but if someone grew up with English, I expect them to use proper (British/American/Australian/Indian) English spelling and grammar or face my Grammar Nazi Wrath. Once they're writing intelligibly, I can communicate with them intelligently.
Contrary to popular Slashdot lore, low UIDs do not necessarily correlate with increased intelligence.
They might start correlating with increased dementia...
Did I miss something? Is HP not one book, one movie?
The last book is two movies. But The Hobbit is two movies too.

I got irradiominated and the doctor said it shaved at least 3i years off my life.
Bonus! When you can't imagine anything any more, you know you have 3 years left.

The "don't tase me bro" kid got tased anyway.
I know it ruins a joke to explain it, but: "fourth"

What, TL;DR?
Finally someone figured out a way to synthesize copper, so people can stop stealing it from the plumbing of abandoned buildings in Detroit.
The question is how to get rid of all that extra waste energy it releases... Maybe we can shunt it into space somehow?
No joke. AGW folks will go nuts when they find out we're not just making greenhouse gases, we're making heat!
If it really works they could create a business out of it and retire.
But if it really is nuclear something, I doubt they want to try to scale it up until they know what's really going on.
Neo did magic in the "real" world. Unforgivable.
I wouldn't count the Harry potter kids since it's a series of books. It would be like saying Elijah Wood was a sequel whore because of LotR.
maybe the Wachowskis have learned something from 2 and 3. Then again, maybe they're just the next George Lucas.
"Meesa save da humans in da Matrix! Whoah."

"'We do not like this suggestion because it does not meet our demands,' Israel's then foreign minister, Tzipi Livni, told the Palestinians"
Things like right to exist probably aren't in it yet.
"there wasn't enough food to go around" there still not enough, don't believe me as you local food bank volunteer.
sure there is. It's just not getting around before it goes bad or is destroyed. Thanks for helping make sure it gets distributed.

Do you know what happens when a jet has to do a belly landing?
No, but I know what happens to a WWII bomber... http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0511124/
No wonder the condom broke.
Bom chiga bow wa chiga bom wow!
Reports of popcorn filled houses across the world.
