Why aren't they measuring per metabolizable calorie instead of ton? Meat is more energy dense than a head of lettuce.
Also, water consumed by plants and creatures isn't lost forever. Sure, the bonds are cracked to make hydrocarbons, but the H and the O still exists. It's not like our bodies perform nuclear reactions.
But the iPhone returns an error message to the iPhone user and asks if they want to resend as a text. This makes the iPhone software look like rubbish.
imagine a driver getting turn-by-turn navigation while a front-seat passenger streams music from the Internet, and each back-seat passenger watches streaming videos on separate displays.
Just because there's an internal network for the car's electronics doesn't mean there's any internet connection (and there'd better not be).
Yes, some people are INTP, and prefer to analyze the problem thoroughly and investigate all possible solutions to make sure that the best solution is chosen. Starting to solve the problem immediately is where madness lies. In fact, is it even a problem? Perhaps it's a new undocumented feature. More study is required.
Incorrect. Even if you believe no deities exist, and you can find a perfect atheistic philosophy of morality and ethics which everyone would agree is not only good, but perfect, and people no longer fear death, religion still serves a vital role in society: some percentage of society are sociopaths; the type of people who, when they believe no one is watching and they can get away with it, will do anything evil if it gives them an advantage. They may agree with everyone else that your system of ethics is great, but they'll ignore it when it suits their interests. Now imagine a population with the same percentage of sociopaths, but with a strong cultural belief in an omniscient deity. Doctrines involving Heaven are great for the "good" folk, but it's the fear of Hell that can keep a sociopath in line. Removing that cultural underpinning increases the number of sociopaths willing to act out on their evil impulses (absent a Big Brother network).
Maybe NYC and SF should build walls around their cities with barbed wire and mine fields to keep citizens from leaving. Then the companies will have to "pay their fair share". I hear it worked for East Germany.

Federally speaking, driving is a right. States district that right in the interests of society to prevent accidents from people who should not be allowed to drive. But states don't have to. I can't imagine why they wouldn't, but in some future 57th state, they may impose no restrictions on driving.
But before you fly-over states get all self-righteous, think about this the next time you buy fresh salad greens in January.
I only buy moles' asses in January. I don't ask why the moles raise livestock, but they sell the stupid ones for extra cheap (which is great because they're less stubborn).
4. What are the chances of us being at the bottom of an infinite chain of simulators?
If the number of simulators is infinite, then the chances of us being at any on particular position in the chain would be as close to 0% as mathematics allows.
We could be at the bottom of a dead branch of an infinite tree of simulators. Considering we have no simulator of our own...
Well, the Coconut of Quendor is that from which all magic flows.

They could order from anyone who has ICBMs. 32 minute delivery or it's free.

The solution is to make sure they never drive around less than half empty. Make them combo delivery/refuse trucks.
I am STILL stymied by a question he asked once:
"Why does a mirror reverse left-and-right but not up-and-down?"
Turn your head 90 degrees so that one eye is higher than the other. Ta Da, it now "reverses up and down."
screen and vlock. Most everything else I need is installed by default.

It needs to be running water, not just water.
Religion serves no positive purpose

As people have pointed out, the surface of the moon isn't always lit. They should put the solar panels on the surface of the sun instead.
What initiates the process is your act of calling internationally, and correllating to a known or suspected threat.
Or being a girlfriend, ex-girlfriend, ex of a girlfriend, family member, etc. of a member of the NSA or NSA contractor.
why do you think Unity was not designed for desktop computers?
Same reason why I think Thief 3 wasn't designed for desktop computers. Because it wasn't.
