This kid was jailed just for posting hateful comments
It wasn't hateful comments that got him arrested, it was sarcastic comments in response to someone else's hateful comments (he was called insane, and he responded with comments that were so ridiculous, they are recognizable as sarcasm even in pure text, not counting the "lol,jk").
Pretty good actually. Ford made a profit of about $1.6 billion last quarter. GM made about $1.1 billion last quarter and Chrysler reportedly made about $1.7 billion in 2012
[b]eyond ten or so servers, there simply isn't a choice. You can't manage an infrastructure like this by hand.
Poppycockery and blatherskitism! Eleven isn't some magic number where Puppet suddenly becomes useful. If you only have 11-20 servers, there's a good chance that they're heterogeneous in both hardware and software. Puppet might help with keeping UIDs/GIDs the same on all the servers, but it's overkill for such a small number of machines. Most of the other conf files will be unique to each individual computer.
Amongst security professionals, a reasonable person would assume images could have been created falsely in the absence of evidence to show images were not created falsely. The result is "more proof needed".
When it's not engaging targets with drones, it can read all our emails and listen to our phone calls to identify new targets. It's got a million uses in and out of the kitchen!
You used both "REDUCE TAXES" and "BALANCED BUDGET". Were you dropped on your head as a child?
If you increase taxes to 100% but do not reduce spending, you will not achieve a balanced budget. If you decrease spending to 0, you can have a balanced budget with tax reduced to 0%. Tax increases are not necessarily the way to a balanced budget. Spending has to go down, whether taxes go up or down.
Yeah, and Einstein's brain in a computer does nothing all day but bemoan his lack of arms to play the violin and ears to listen to music. He was more than a theoretical physicist.
I tried playing "Angry Birds home pregnancy kit", but my Doctor refused to believe that a man can get pregnant. Also, AT&T refused to honor the warranty due to moisture.
Two hundred minor issues, unless they're all the same issue and are scriptable, is not two hours lost, it's several days, especially with ticket documentation et al (if they're scriptable, it might be far less than two hours). Sometimes two hundred people have to be left angry temporarily because if the server isn't finished being restaged, thousands of people could be angry when the server doesn't get back on line on schedule.
I don't really understand this rift that seems to exist between IT and its customers
I've bolded the rift above. When managers start referring to IT like it's a separate internal company, then the feeling that users/admins are coworkers who should be respected goes away.

Like Wonko the Sane, they'll be self assured of their rightness, but they'll wither away alone.
Now how'd Detroit working out?
Pretty good actually. Ford made a profit of about $1.6 billion last quarter. GM made about $1.1 billion last quarter and Chrysler reportedly made about $1.7 billion in 2012
Yeah, but how is Detroit doing?
What, you will?
If you're a tourist and you're travelling with a camera, do you have to pay an import duty at arrival and an export duty at your departure?
If your name is Art Vandelay, it's the cost of doing business.
At least they didn't say 390.625 Mebidollars.

Has it been tested?
Imagine one-way streets becoming two-way without notice. Imagine gridlock without traffic lights. Watch videos from Indian cities.
Any reason why it wouldn't scale?
Tighter quarters, less visibility, less civility, and more pure asses.
A Dutch town. Cities would not fair as well.
one stalk of salary and i get a bowel-movement
You should buy some celery with that salary instead of eating the money. Then there would be fewer people waiting for the end result.
Yes. That's how the founding fathers got the rabble of their day* interested.
*the educated, land owning rabble like themselves.

I may have to label it as porn.

The government also needs access to all your computers in perpetuity to make sure it stays deleted.

WE ARE WATCHING YOU
OH DEAR GOD, MAKE IT STOP
Although I'd probably just use a piece of tape.
Shut up, lameness filter. It's a joke, and the caps were a quote from the article.

It actually burns me up when I hear it
It literally burns me up too.
My pants are on Fire!!!! Why does this keep happening!!?!
