So maybe someone with more knowledge can answer this. I remember reading a few years back that there was some company modding DVD players to output firewire at full DVD resolution (720x480 or some such). The studios were torqued because the licensing for DVD players said they could only put out standard def. It's been a while so the details are fuzzy though.
Is it due to the PC's putting out the DVD's at the native 720x480 resolution while the DVD players are forced to downsample the video? Are there DVD players that can now output full resolution to an HDTV?
I think ill stand next to the night deposit box at the bank.
It's actually easier than that. About ten years ago someone took a cardboard box with a sign "Night deposit broken, put deposits here" and stuck it next to the night drop. The bank was next to a shopping mall and most of the stores used that bank because it was so close. Something like $15K was put in the box before someone decided to call the cops...
All this talk of swiping the luggage and such has me thinking. What if I go to the range that morning and the machine picks up trace amounts of gunpowder? What happens then?
I'm guessing at the no airbags from this review . There's a shot of cockpit with no bags. Might be a test model though.
I remember seeing a review of this car on a while back on Top Gear and thinking "Another car we won't ever get here". Now I might have to start saving!
I was modded funny, but was actually serious. Hadn't realized that they had allowed the Ariel into the US. How did they get around things like the airbags?
Meh. It's cute, but as soon as you add airbags, side impact beams, rollover protection, 1500 watts of stereo with a subwoofer, make it pass US crash rules, etc. it will weigh 3000 lbs and have a range of 50 feet.
My personal opinion would be that they are running bad tires or think they should floor it to get up the hill. When you give the RWD gas you get weight transfer to the rear tires where you need it. FWD tends to lift the front up, once again giving weight transfer to the rear but away from the driven wheels. Up a hill this problem is worse. That said, I run winter tires in winter, summer tires in summer, and throw a 70lb sand tube in the trunk just for a little extra grip when it snows, so mebbe I'm biased!
Heh, I LOVE seeing the civics where they put the big airplane wheels on the back and the skinny tires on the front. How's that working for ya sparky!
For me personally I wouldn't say RWD is just more fun, I feel that the cars handle better (on average, but you can make a really crappy handling RWD) and it becomes a safety factor also. There are situations (rare on the street, true) where throttle steering can make or break you, FWD just doesn't do that well at all (and I HATE the torque steer these cars produce).
Heh, in winter I LOVE seeing all the flipped SUV's on the side of the road! Slow down, if everyone looks fine honk and wave!
Yes, but you *know* how to fishtail. Most people can't even use a turn signal and need the car to tell them how to stay alive.
This is part of the reason most cars are front wheel drive now (in addition to being cheaper to bolt together). The panic reaction in a front wheel drive is the safe one, turn the wheel the way you want to go and floor it. Do that in a rear wheel drive and you'll spin. Sad that people don't know about steering into the skid. My co-workers give me flak because I drive a rear wheel drive vehicle in winter. My God, don't you feel unsafe? Nope. I just learned how to actually handle my car.

Run to your local autoparts store, look in the car wax section for Meguiars Plastic Polish. Works like a charm.
