    if you don't know which distros are not using systemd by now, you aren't working hard enough, bye bye and enjoy your new home at freeBSD which will eventually get a systemd/launchd system as they are investigating using one themselves.

    no, he's correct. its amazing that some sysadmins think that its okay for a computer to simplify other peoples lives but as soon as a system comes along that threatens their cosy little domain by making admin easier (once learnt) they get the shit-fits.

    journal - captures Syslog messages, Kernel log messages, initial RAM disk and early boot messages as well as messages written to STDOUT/STDERR of all services, indexes them and makes this available to the user. It can be used in parallel, or in place of a traditional syslog daemon, such as rsyslog or syslog-ng.

    thats probably more down to your lack of experience with systemd than with systemd itself (if its true, i don;t tend to believe ACs). better get reading about systemd and its capabilities

    FreeBSD are looking into an "init" replacement in next few years as well so you'll have to change again.

    Lots of factories have large roofs that are suitable for solar, and it they are really large, they could possibly have wind turbines too. Even a 50% saving on power intensive factories would be useful to their energy bills. Unless they have tied themselves in a contract that says "use this amount and get it at this price, if you use less, it will cost more" . Micrsoft had this problem a few years ago where they were going to use that agreed so they turned everything on to use enough power to stay in the cheaper bracket.

    i would have thought having only one large energy storage unit is a single point of failure. It would be more resilient to have loads of linked community micro-grids and micro-storage units connected to the national grid. More resilience, more jobs, more competition and less pressure on the national grid would be the outcome
