I think its an okay analogy. Supermarkets keeps stock on the hope the customer buys. The veggie seller is the home solar supplier, the restaurant is the utility. if the utility wants my excess solar, it can use the already installed and (probably) paid for infrastructure to get it. It buys the power from the home solar at a suitable cost which it resells at a higher rate. The utility uses less fuel stock during the day (saves money), the home solar then becomes a power buyer during the dark period and buys at retail. The utility's major task is to develop its fuel burning generating systems to be more able to fire up quicker to take over (or increase) when its required or find a way to store any unsold solar. I can't see who loses apart from the utility that doesn't move with the times.
i pretty much agree with you but so many people expect the green solution to be 100% perfect and in place yesterday and have replaced the current infrastructure overnight. These things will take time. The main things impeding faster deployment of green solutions is the fossil fuel industry trying to protect their installed based and unfortunately those that don't think enough about the issues take their lies/dis/misinformation as truth.
well, here's an analogy. if i sell vegetables to a restaurant, who pays for the the refrigerator at the restaurant to store those vegetables? if the restaurant wants to preserve those vegetables for longer, the restaurant will pay for the equipment. Ultimately this cost is passed onto the customer to cover his expenses.

not really. it doesn;t matter how you describe it, well, successfully or aggressively - it doesn't make you necessarily the better employee, just more confident in negotiations. if 2 people are doing the same job with equivalent success, they should be paid the same.
why do you think a better negotiator is a better quality employee? the two qualities do not always equate. being a good negotiator does not mean you are good technically.
You'd better find a better article to base your thoughts on. I wouldn't hold up Christopher Booker as an impartial (or smart) commentator... e.g.
Climate change ---- On climate change Booker is one of a number of strong critics in the U.K. press of the United Nations IPCC claims on global warming in the 21st century.
Intelligent design ---- Booker has also argued in support of intelligent design, claiming that supporters of the theory of evolution "rest their case on nothing more than blind faith and unexamined a priori assumptions".
and where do you draw the line for religious exemptions? you give the KKK a great excuse to lynch on basis of conscience. I do not support any discrimination of anyone . The law, in a truely equal society, should not have to mention any particular group of people and certainly not make exceptions for bigots to discriminate based on something fictitious like their religion

Christian bigots discriminating against gays and a man standing up to the state - i think you too desperate to defend discrimination and ended up comparing apples and oranges.
i'm against any law based on religious bigotry, the more exemptions you give based on religious views the more it makes matters worse. you should not have any excuse to discriminate.
