thats down to the developers of the UI concerned, not the systemd developers. if any app becomes dependent on systemd, its down to the apps developers.
"There is no shortage of kids awaiting adoption. Until all of them are adopted, I don't think any of the in vitro techniques that we have in use today should have been allowed. Being a parent isn't about biology; it's about loving your children and taking care of them, regardless of who their genetic contributors were." - have you mentioned this to your wife or spoken to anyone that would prefer a child from their own body rather than adopting? I think you need to find out what women want before making that statement
bollox. if you read the trolls and know a little about systemd, you would realise just how ignorant the trolls are..

"I can only assume it comes from the confusing naming collision in that the project Systemd" - i think you are correct, they should have named the project something else and not the name of the daemon. and because trolls are trolls, they don't do any research
"Although, if I don't want key-less ignition - aka Push (Button|to) Start - (the systemD of automotive features), it seems I'm soon to be screwed, w/o an alternate vendor. " but you do have alternatives, you can stick with what you already have, or buy a used car, you can pay someone to rip out the new modern features and replace them with old keys. the choice is yours.
its just called windows 8 (core) so effectively its "Home",. you can upgrade to it only from Win7 starter, home basic and home premium.

facts get up your nose then?
delete glibc completely then see what happens
Speak to Debian about their configuration, they may have not yet got it right. Red hat, opensuse, arch etc seem to be okay
"don't forget that they're adding a bootloader now too" - its OPTIONAL like everything else (bar journald), do some research
bollox definition of modular. does your app depending on a specific version glibc work as "modular"? Is the kernel modular?
systemd only needs journald, everything else is configurable, do some research
excellent guardian article quoting Dr Hugh Briss and DR Potkettle Black

another response "oh shit, the twat stuck in his mums basement with an IQ smaller than his shoe size has managed to type something"
"Not all alternatives are created equal. " - that is subjective, you always have a choice.

perhaps i should have just said "seems to be..." as that was the important bit of the quote
its probably only one person reposting, note that most of them are AC
Considering there are loads of binaries already in the systemd project and only one runs in PID1, they are wrong
Its an optional component as all the other parts of the systemd project are optional. journald is the only one not optional for obvious reasons
its already on Raspberry Pi..
if apt set "init=/bin/systemd" then change to "init=/bin/init"

the post he responded to does not deserve responding to in a sensible way as it was a crap post full of shit
"seems to be a bit of a hive" - while you are using terms like this, you'd best do some research to qualify it rather than reply on the trolls.

give it time, i think the last few trolls are still asleep in their mums basement
