    even contemplating that ssns could be used to identify people uniquely online was stupid from the start. think - its just a number. its not something encrypted or else. its a plain number that is constructed according to a particular algorithm. any half decent person intent on abusing it could eventually discover that algorithm by running tests and trials with crappy software. this goes for all kinds of such number schemes.

    actually, anything that can be read in a digital environment, can easily be faked/duped in the same digital environment. there is no remedying this. think - even the paper documents were faked at large before digital age.

    no way in hell you can prevent online gaming. see, an example service :

    your-freedom.net is a great proxy that works good with many games, including wow. i had had used it to reduce my ping actually - it halved my ping, since my crappy (then) isp was having huge ping to wow eu servers.

    kids will just use such services, free or paid.

    I am trying to weed out the fucking donation link amongst ~*8 links (and maybe ones i dont see) sprinkled and 'beautifully' embedded in the sentences as part of sentences in the summary and articles.

    why are people doing this ? is it 'cool' when you embed the links with their link texts being parts of sentences ? what about usability, user friendliness ?

    holy cow.

    if someone can link the donation link in an non hipster, uncool, plain way, i will be grateful.

    I just decided to get a new IDE for web development. im a web professional, you see. and, while viewing IDEs, i had had dwelt on Eclipse.

    i decided not to use it, in order not to put my beans and time on something that is that intertwined with Java, only because of Oracle's bad reputation with this control freak/closed ip business.

    see. bad reputation hampers something that runs on your platform. in turn, that hampers your platform. reputation counts a lot.

    incorrect. in the world of finance, there is no such thing. if china decides to sell all those bonds, and u.s. declines, that will cause u.s. bonds to become worthless. and hamper the ability of borrowing for govt.

    china is the country basically funding u.s. govt. debt. leave aside 'assets'. the entire borrowing capability of u.s. now depends on china. if china sells the u.s. govt bonds it holds, their value will drop so low that us govt wont be able to borrow by selling new bonds. not to mention that dollar will sink to bottom and get replaced by another currency as the trade currency.

    you are talking about a pathetic amount of 2.5 b worth of prc assets .

    it isnt difficult to answer. everything must be publicly available. even if a witness protection programme is in question, it can be exploited to do underhanded things due to the secrecy i provides. everything must be public.

    you mean just pulling parts of the content that is served by the remote webserver, and presenting it as if it was something separate from a website ? the fact that i can push a few form buttons there does not make it any different from a website.

    basically you separate widgets and page-specific functions from a website, and call that an app.
