HAHA I love how Clear Channel is always blamed for what the RIAA and record labels have created...oh and 13 years?? 13 years ago Clear Channel owned less than 40 radio stations total across the whole nation. It wasn't until 1998 that Jacor was acquired and ramped up Clear Channel to the large amount of stations it now owns (much of which are going to be divested very soon in fact). They own radio stations, therefore they have driven CD prices up...makes alot of sense. Good to at least look up some facts to go along with the worn out unwarranted Clear Channel nagging. :P

Maybe it's finally time that artists start getting compensation closer to what is deserved. I have always thought that athletes, movie stars, and music artist were ridiculously overpaid. I don't think it's because they necessarily deserve the pay they are getting, I think it's more a case that we have let them get away with it and it has snowballed over time. We are seeing the same thing in hollywood with movie stars injecting politics into everything...and are starting to lose favor.

Maybe the tides are now turning for music artists too. Before anyone gets all upset because they have a basement studio at home with cakewalk and consider themselves to be an incredible artist headed for that lame event south by southwest, I'm talking about the pre-packaged commercialized artists like Timberlake, Spears, Eminem (yes Eminem is commercialized), Clay Aiken, and Kelly Clarkson.

While these next items I mention may actually be in the full report, there is of course no mention in the pathetic VERY BIASED article. Comparing the accuracy of the mouse precision based solely on the operating system without mention of the hardward especially and specifically the mouse...is just rediculous and a waste of time. As far as the menus...same again goes...what video card did they use...what machine specs? The desktop and laptop I am currently running Vista on both have pretty much zero latency on menu/window operation...basically instantaneous. I also beta tested Vista on a laptop that didnt even meet the "minimum video card requirements" and it still loaded Aero and ran it at full speed. Im all for good studies and comparisions...but wow some of the groups and people are doing whatever they can to dig at MS and Vista. At least make your studies look legitimate with the basics I mentioned above!

How is that any different? What if the police had demanded to search him right there, or risk being tasered, and he had simply stayed on the floor? You're telling me that going limp on the floor or not moving is considered "suspicious?" The combination of not producing ID, refusing to leave a public building when asked and going limp instead of leaving is VERY suspicous! They can tase me if, for some reason, I can't move or it hurts to move? Man, dead people must be TERRIBLE for the police. They scream at them to get up, and you tase them, and they STILL don't get up.That makes absolutely no sense and has on bearing on the point. Do some research on what a taser does to muscles after electrical impulse. Amazing he was able to clearly get out his political rants.....

Not providing an ID when asked by authority sounds like he didn't provide ANY ID. He just didn't have his campus ID. Why didn't they ask him for a driver's license or some other form of identification? If he was leaving anyway, as the article said he was, why did they need to grab his arm at all? They were following procedure to have him removed without ID. That wasn't what made him so suspicious...see above reply.

The police are not supposed to be the ones inititalizing a physical confrontation. It's different if the criminal does, or shows intent to (having a weapon). Remember, these people are serving YOU (and everyone around you), you're not serving THEM.Wow what rediculous statements. A criminal showing intent to or having a weapon is NOT the only reason for initiating (not initializing) physical confrontation with a possible criminal. You really need to do some research on taser devices and law.

The man is then tased again more than once after each time he refuses to leave the building....ect ect ect. If this happened in an airport I have a feeling people would be singing a different tune rather than calling out TSA brutality. This guys rants just sounded WAY too scripted to me...it was planned.

I keep hearing people complaining "if he had just listened" or "all he had to do was get up." But seriously, think about it -- should he really have been tased repeatedly or simply arrested?
    Yes and yes.

    1. After being shocked repeatedly, could he even have been ABLE to "just" stand up?
After each time of being shocked he had plenty of time to comply instead of his fake act.

    2. After being shocked repeatedly, would be have been in a mental state to understand the cops' commands?
Yes, do some research on Taser.

    3. He was on the floor. An irritating act, but something deserving electrocution?
Yes, he was on the floor by his own choice, becuase of this it's quite suspicious to me why he was behaving like that. I would guess either for political attention (his patriot act comment) or something far worse (terrorist activity ect).

    4. What if someone asks for a warrant, should they also get electrocuted. After all "all he had to do was let them search."
No, thats different than suspiciously not leaving a public place or providing ID when asked by an authority.

Put simply, this was WRONG. The kid deserves to be arrested, NOT electrocuted. To those of you who say "tasing is non-lethal," well, i dare you to do it to yourself. Post a video on YouTube to prove it.
While I dont have a video, I have been tased before. Yes it hurt like HELL, but its still SO suspicious why he wouldn't leave. And before you say it...yes you can stand after being tased..once again that can be easily researched. His little rants between being tased sound VERY rehearsed to me.

Probably one out of 1000 artists today can actually perform without all of the stage and/or studio processing..we see this most in hip/hop and rap IMO. Its like the saying "everybody wants to be a DJ"...nowdays everyone thinks they are an artist. Im sure some Apple fanboy will mod me down for this next part, but software like Garage Band is adding to the multitudes of crappy bands/artists. It used to be that someone had talent and would be signed to a label and perform/produce. Nowdays someone thinks they have talent...they CREATE a label in mom's basement and make a CD with Garage Band (or insert PC music software)...which has ultimately created more labels out there than actual artists...rediculous! Painful to actually say this because I hate the saying, but it unfortunately fits...hate the player dont hate the game...

Another reason would be for developers...definitely the time to start looking at developing and porting to Vista right now. On a side note, I have been beta testing Vista for quite a while now...and you should really try it before condemning it...my experience has been NOTHING like the negative posts here.
