Still if a CD on itunes is $9.99 and a CD at walmart is the same price. I would much rather goto wallmart for the following reasons:
1.I rarely buy CDs
2.Itunes then has your credit card infomation
3.I use winamp
4.I would have to install itunes bundled with quicktime
5.I hate apple
6.Why pay for music in the first place when it's so easy to download using a p2p client
I'll admit it i steal about 80% using a prefferd p2p prgram and the other 20% I go to the store and buy. Why pay 99c - $1.50 when I can get AC-DC - Family jewls with over 50 songs for $20? If online music purchasing was cheaper and you could find a good selection without using the Apple entity. I'd do it! But it's not 5c to 10c yet so.... Im just not gonna do it. And Artists already complain that the prices arn't High enough. I'm just hoping that this whole thing will die down and the early napsters of the 90's can resume being whom they are before Metallica fucked with them.
Im sorry but until the all in one device can hold 40Gb of Mp3s then I don't care, until the all in one device can take 10 Megapixel pictures at 1600X1200 then I don't care, Until the all in one device isn't taking a gamble at the portable gaming insdustry then I don't care. Until the all in one device isn't an over-sized, expensive, clumsy, POS with lots of shiney half-assed features added on then I don't give a damn. I'm sorry but the reason the 40Gb ipod isn't smaller and more battery friendly is becuase it can't be. The reason the 10MP fuji fine pix isn't cheaper, and smaller is beacuse it can't be. The reason the DS isn't smaller is because nintendo hasn't released the 6th color yet. This is why no one is going to buy a $660 all-in-one esspicailly a nokia whom is know for their cheaper line. It just doesn't stack up.
Say the employee whom gets the implnats gets $60,000 a year while the tweed over in the corner who's afraid of his goverment and lives with his mother in the basement without the implants only makes $30,000 a year? Then the implants become a neccessity. I fell the need for a non-implanted persons bill of rights. (NIPBOR)
AND THEN the makers of niptuck can make a spinoff named: Nip Tuck: implanted removers.
I stay up at night thinking of theese things. I fear that one day my Grandma and her penny jar must go! If the public has no tangible money to steal then how will my uncle Vern make a living? If you cannot put bills on the table then how will I cheat at poker and win?

Most of the people reading slashdot here are alas, geeks, hacker, and nerds such as myself. When one such as myself goes to buy a new pc, I look at all the avalible options myself. I shop at the Frys of atlanta where the employes don't work off commision. They don't bother me because of this. I know my stuff and could own a frys. So i know what all the terms on the box mean. I'm a gamer so I tend to build pc's myself. anyway.
My point is that if you already know pc's, you don't need to do homework or deal with sales people. You just grab the item and your in and out in less then 5 minutes. (after paying of course)
