I'm actually php programmer, so in fact I'm coding open source and living from it. I don't dislike closed source, I'm only telling, that if you know how, open source can be a little more tweakable and therefore more usable.

Now the much more important question: how many times have you actually looked through the source code to make sure it's not full of shitware?
I have actually looked on source of some programs, but not to search shit. This programs had some silly limitations, so I changed them. With closed source programs i couldn't do that, and this would really discard program for me.

They measured raw video output directly from light sensitive cells. And it's not thaat every pixel is refreshed at 60hz. It's rather (if you RTFA) 4Hz for each "pixel". But during each millisecond there are many pixels transfering, so we perceive it as continuous transmission.

  6. Re:Um yeah, I dunno... on Visualizing Ethernet Speed · · Score: 1

It's not that simple. Neurons in eyes aren't synchronically read, like in monitors. Every neuron fires about 4 times per seccond, but at any given time there are many neurons firing. So this bandwidth is calculated by measuring how often neurons fire and how many there are working. And you DO NOT have such resolution as your monitor. If you had, you could see all pixels at once. You have greater pixel density only in central spot.

  8. Solves almost 100% of the problem on Solar Power Minus the Light · · Score: 1

Main innovation here is that they removed feed pump, which makes whole thing more efficient at low temperatures. If their fluid boils above 58F, then it condensates below 58F. If it condensated just above outdoor temperature, then thermal collectors could heat it and normal outdoor temperature could make it condensate back. With such low temperatures however it's very inneficient to run a feed pump. They however have plan:
    1. Eliminate feed pump
    2. ??
    3. Profit.

I speak only about original ati/nvidia drivers. With custom drivers like NGO this could change. For my GF6800 NGO drivers added muuuch stability.
