"Property rights exist today. You are either killing someone to take their land, or you are not. The past is entirely irrelevant." Because that's convenient for me. eh? So should someone come, kill you and your family and take your land as their own in 50 year that would be ok for them to say? It's mine forget about the past. Remember; in the future, you are the past.

Thank you for that, I'll need to do some rethinking.

I was under the impression that the sun was always out somewhere ;) If we instated a worldwide grid and had everyone share ( based on the number of solar generation stations they made available) then we could really do this without needing crazy large battery banks,, or at least not as many of them.

That is an interesting analogy, but it might need a spin.

ask the question, in the real world where do most tax breaks come from. ( in the analogy it's the 20$ )

So back to the analogy presented...

"Since you are all such good customers," he said,
"I'm going to reduce the cost of your daily meal by
$20." Dinner for the ten now cost just $80.

What it doesn't mention is that now the 4 poorest men only get 1/2 as much food, the 5th and 6th don't have a drink, and even the 7th,8th,and 9th richest people see a decrease in the quality of their food. So in effect they see no (or little) benifit for some cost, while the richest sees all benifit.

If the point of this is to prevent people from swindeling the blind, an "over time" solution likely wouldn't help very much for quite a while. All someone needs to say is that it's not one of the new bills.... I still have some cash in a jar from like 10 years ago, it would be tough to enforce a " must have money changed in 1 year " but it might be the only solution, if one is needed at all with the drastic decline in cash usage that has been taking place.
