Okay I think. I think I detected a small amount of sarcasm in that post. I'm honestly not go with reading it so hey. I may have mangled my point very badly while getting it across.

My point was we can't do much, but we need to get on with our lives because as long as we fear them and react to every little thing the way did in Boston they are winning. If we are jumping at every shadow, if we see them everywhere we look they win. Please feel free to tell me I have no fucking clue because chances are you have a better idea of it than me, however I am just telling my opinion.

For me it has always been cheaper. Recently I had to do a complete rebuild. I started with nothing. I could have bought a dell for 1700 to get comparable components. I got mine with the case I wanted, with the Mobo I wanted, with the expansions I wanted, with the power supply I wanted all in the form factor I wanted for 1500. Yes, in some cases it will be more exspensive, but you get a level of custimazation that you cannot get from dell or even alien ware or voodoo. Though I do like voodoos cases.

Yes it is cheaper. OH NO! I have to pick the right memory and the right socket! OH GOD THAT IS SO FUCKING HARD I NEED SOME DIVINE INTERVENTION!..

That or I could just compare the socket and move on with my life and get a better computer cheaper with less bloatware on it.

Oh please, for a country that had made itself "safer" since 9/11 we are still scared shitless by our own shadow on a daily basis. We are going to live like this too until people accept one simple fact. Shit happened, shit will still happen, and no amount of perceived "security" is going to change that simple fact. There is only so much you can do to prevent a determined enemy. We need to learn to live with the fact that we are not living in a safe world and get back to a point where we can live our lives without being scared of everything. Until that day, the terrorists are winning because we live in fear.

The further I go the more I will specialize, while keeping a good general knowledge base. I will probably never make it in the industry but hey I'm gonna try. If all else fails I'll put my CS degree to good use elsewhere.

I was not saying lens flare in relation to modern games. There was a time however when it was a "feature".

Many games use lens flare. I do notice, I do look for the proper application of certain graphical things. I also tend to say things like "Shit?! I wish my maps looked as good as these." and "Wow, I would have been fucked had I not been able to hear where he was coming from."

Yes, I know how the little details go towards making the whole. I study this stuff because I want to do it myself one day.

I put in "physics" as opposed to physics for a reason. The "" were supposed to denote games where physics serves as nothing but a gimmick, and add nothing to gameplay. "physics" refers to games where you can throw your gun on the ground and watch is slide with no real physics.
