Absolutely but that's very fluid and I'll be the very first to admit that any pure political ideology will not work - no form, not even democracy, will ever work. A reasonable and blended choice is ideal. Most (from what I've witnessed over the many years) Libertarians don't actually have much in common with the people who purport to speak for the party and, frankly, this is a bad thing and is our fault entirely for not having maintained control and been welcoming of anyone and everyone. It's sort of how the Republicans let the Fundamentalists into the tent.
Seriously, read the first few paragraphs on Wikipedia. it's actually written better than I expected. I just discovered it the other day - I'd never bothered looking before as I'd assumed it was going to be trash. I'm pretty far left, as an example, and generally believe the rights of the individual come before all else except where the commons need protections. Businesses, for example, have rights but they are really far down on the list of importance. I want a strong, functional, government without waste and over-reaching antics. I want everyone to have the same chances I have had and I want people to be able to move upward. I want a strong social safety net. I am a Libertarian. I guess, to be frank, it's probably time to start calling myself a Classic Libertarian.
Ayn Rand was a moron and Rand Paul needs to be cracked in the jaw.
I can call a cow a banana but that doesn't make me correct if I count cows as plants.
In hindsight, that's the worst analogy ever. At least it doesn't involve automobiles. Anyhow, if you count Pluto as a planet and list the planets of the solar system (My Very Educated Mother Just Served Us Nine Pizza-Pies) then you'll be "incorrect." I'm kind of partial to calling Pluto a planet but I understand the choice. I guess we could just teach kids: My Very Educated Mother Just Served Us Noodles.
The only reason I'd want such a critter would be for augmented reality and, frankly, I'd rather not want to meander around with these sorts of things on my head to enjoy that. It'd be neat to get "information overload" when viewing the skyline. As I hopped onto the Skyway (I'm in Buffalo still, I have my reasons) I was curious as to when and where the idea came from, how tall it was, etc... It'd be neat to have that information available in small text inside my glasses but, you know, I probably shouldn't drive while reading about my surroundings.
I did so, at one point. People seemed inclined to agree. I suppose I could go back through my comment history but I'm not sure what thread it was in or whatnot.
To me...
Drone - autonomous w/various subsets but fully autonomous. R/C aircraft - user controlled with some computerized assistance possible and various subsets. Unguided aircraft - not entirely unguided but stuff like model rockets is a good example. Subsets can include power supply, purpose, ability, etc...
Now, my definitions don't count unless we agree on them. So, no matter if someone stops me or not, I'm still in limbo until we've universally agreed (or mostly agreed).
Also, my earlier definition was much more involved but that's the gist of it. I don't think I included unguided in the earlier definitions but they were much better worded than this synopsis.
To reference the GGP, the drones would have object avoidance. An R/C aircraft may also have that. However, it would not be a requirement. A recent example would be the science teacher in NY who piloted a 'drone' (which I'd term an R/C) into a crowd of spectators at a tennis match. That RC did not have object avoidance. Well, if it did then it did a poor job.
My issue is, and I'm not a hobbyist or a fan really, that I dislike draconian laws even when they don't impact me directly. You, if you are a fan and a user, really need to start some sort of educational program and outreach program because if you don't regulate yourselves you're going to end up very, very pissed off. As a person who believes you should have as many freedoms as possible, with regards to the commons, I'd hate for your enjoyment to be restricted/limited because of a bunch of idiots.
I can't believe they're still going after him. Well, they were the last time I checked his site. He's spent a fortune - I hope he recoups his financial losses while still young enough to spend them.
I see you have no idea what a Libertarian is. It's great that you have an opinion, however. I do recommend just a little research. Read the very first four or so paragraphs from the Wikipedia article - it's better than I'd expected. We'll start with your biggest mistakes - Libertarianism is a political ideology and not an economic model and Libertarians are about the last people who are going to send people to war.
It's not your fault that you're stupid. It is mine. Allow me to correct this with the above. That should get you started well enough.
So then, you DO remember the day you decided "hey, I can be heterosexual or I can be homosexual, hmm... hmm... yeah I guess I'll just be hetero"?
Actually? Kind of, sort of, yes? There was a time where I was curious about what my sexuality might be and was open enough to investigate such. It turns out that kissing a man is not as much fun as I'd hoped. So, yeah... I quite clearly remember having a very similar conversation with myself and with others - I was also very drunk throughout that period of my life. But yes, I suppose, I figured I could prefer either one gender or both and, as it turns out, I'm kind of partial to the womenfolk.
I might have an odd fascination with transgendered folk, however. I mean, yeah, they're the gender they identify with - right? So, no, I'm not gay but I'm pretty damned open to new experiences or at least trying them.
Hmm...
Discussing my sexuality on Slashdot... Expecting serious replies... While in another state... Miles from home... In a city... Filled with hookers. Filled with loose women... I tried to drive in SF's Chinatown. Lesson learned. Lesson learned, indeed. I was fortunate to be just at the right spot at the right time to grab a parking spot. However, the damned meter wouldn't let me put in extra to just stay in that spot (yes, I understand the reasoning but I was still kind of pissed). I spent a long time in Chinatown. I went back to the meter and put more money in.
Some ticket writer glared at me but didn't say anything. I'd have just taken the ticket. I wasn't driving anywhere (I generally drive a fairly large BMW as I'm a huge fan of sport sedans) until the traffic and street calmed down. Either way, I didn't explore far because I wanted to be able to get back to my car - it was just frustrating. Needless to say, traffic slowed (marginally) and I still hated it. I'm so glad I don't live there.
I'd also add that the hill stops were awesome. Now, I can see why people who drive a stick would argue with me but they're not looking at it right. I love a standard. I also love a good challenge. Those are pretty good but they need to be covered in snow and ice to make it more interesting. If you're not sideways then you're not using enough throttle.
As for the rest? I don't think the pedestrians were any worse in SF? There are just a lot of them mixed with vehicular traffic. This could probably be changed but I doubt they've the willpower to do so. As you said, some of the streets should be shut down - I'd go so far as to consider shutting down Haight Street too. That might be some bias as I've stumbled into that street a couple of times but haven't ever been hit.
Also, those are hippies and freaks. They don't deserve cars. (Says the long haired hippie freak. *grins*) My first time in the Bay Area was way back when I was a wee lad in the early/mid 1970s. I was with a few friends (in a van, yes, a van) and we were going to be the next greatest band ever. A year later I was in the Marines.
No, it's not true. Scroll up the thread for links. And, you'd want to just kick the ball down the road and blame someone other than the offender? Seriously?
I am pretty sure you're expressly not supposed to think like that nor to *like* thinking like that. I'm damned sure you're not supposed to express it if you do.
(I know what you meant. However, willful misinterpretation was due.)
This is Oregon and, unless I am mistaken, I am pretty sure they can carry concealed firearms on campus if they're properly permitted to do so. Although it's no longer required in my state (any unrestricted person can conceal carry in Maine) I still maintain my CCW permit because it allows it in other states. But, anyhow, I'm pretty sure they can technically carry firearms there - and on campus.
Hmm... A quick Google indicates that I am correct.
I went to a private school but we had a rifle and pistol team. My personal firearms were kept in the head master's office - a closet in the back. We'd compare and contrast and had a variety of teachers who were interested. We hunted in the fall, well, some of use did. It was kind of awesome really. We competed against a number of other schools, many of which were public schools.
They say an armed society is a polite society. I dare say they're correct. The next time you see someone brandishing a firearm in a mall stop and look around - how many people are running up to the gunman and insulting his mother? Who is sidling up behind him to bend over so that another one can come push him from the front so that he falls down and everybody has a good laugh? Nobody. That's who.
For the record, I own a variety of firearms including some that would make some folks here "shit bricks." (Yes, they cost way too much money. However, they're an assload of fun and that paper's not going to put holes in it by itself.) In fact, I'm out of my general stomping grounds and have two firearms with me. They remain in a small safe in my trunk except when I'm in a hotel room or "out on the town." I've never used a firearm in self-defense as a civilian (unfortunately, I have fired on people firing at me while serving) and I hope I never do need to do so. Should I need to use a firearm to defend myself or other people I am comfortable making that choice though I will certainly regret having had to do so.
By no means do I ever want to take the life of a fellow human being. Now, Bambi's dad? I'll eat the hell out of him.
See, I want you to drive VW stock down to almost nothing. Why? I have complete faith that they'll recover. I don't own any shares yet but you can bet your ass that I'll be buying at least 1000 shares just as they start to make a recovery. I'm going to make a mint. Thanks. I don't even need the money but hey, it's pretty much free money by letting someone use what I wasn't using.

Oh - and occasional time to immerse into a VR world but, as a general rule, I'd probably avoid that. If done well, I think it'd be too addictive.

I wonder if they have any C-level executives from VW or vise versa.
We need to work on some definitions or you're being dishonest.

As near as I can tell, that's the only accurate statement in your entire post.
I'll have sex with barely legal cute teens (or most anyone, really) for a bad review on Peeple.
Hmm... I will, too.
So... Umm... What's his number? You know, for research purposes.
